I like the concept of using the little planet itself to defend from the asteroids.

I downloaded the Windows .exe link, but it wants a data folder:
"There should be 'TinyPlanetDefenseForce_Data'
folder next to the executable"

Gave me a good laugh, and definitely did something interesting with the theme!

Sandcrawler: You're right, looks like it needs a 22Mb data folder too. I'll look into getting that uploaded somewhere public tomorrow, but in the meantime the web version should work.

Nice all-round game. The humor really makes it :)

That music drove me INSANE... But otherwise cool

Mechania I got to level 7 with, Conflagus I got to level 6 with. Mechania seemed easier to play than Conflagus, not only could you move with the beam and take several asteroids out at once, but you could also watch the asteroid on the buildings and hold them until the timer ran out.

I really like this take on the theme, the graphics are good, its fun to play, and the humor holds your attention. I liked the music and sound effects. Overall it is a good entry, and feels like a complete game.

Nice! (Conflagus is easier to play with by far.) I like the special effects! Very nice graphics. Funny, too. The music, though, drives me NUTS.

I think I must have missed the part where I was told to hold fire to fire the laser from the mechanical planet so I used the actual planet to block the asteroids until level 6 haha. I had fun playing this

Not sure what was going on but I was unable to shoot anything with Mechania. The fire button simply made a weird sound but no laser appeared. I instead spent a lot of time crashing myself into asteroids and trying to deflect them.

Fun concept anyway, though. :)

Addressing some of the comments:

Yep, the music is annoying. :) This is what happens when I leave myself 30 minutes to install, learn to use, and produce music with Musagi. Sorry about that!

There's nothing that explicitly says to hold the fire button to charge the laser for Mechania, which is a failing of the game. There were plans for a "sucking" particle effect showing the laser charging up, but it was one of the things that got cut for time.

The fact that two different people are convinced that each of the different planets is better is a sign that I've set it up right. :)

Cool, had fun playing this. Didn't get the mechania charge thing at first, ended up thinking it was a "melee" planet :). After that got to level 7 or 8.

(BTW, for the Microbial game you and a few others were having that empty-level-1 problem on - I added a "compatibility mode" exe to the latest download that fixes it - was a problem on certain graphics cards)

The controls were nice and fluid :)

Some good ideas here, congrats. I think it would be better if your planet was a bit more responsive.

Nice game! Feels quite polished too.

What doesn't work is that after an asteroid has been pushed out of the level it still can hit the planet, which feels arbitrary.
