Casal Navity by Nanofus

[raw]
made by Nanofus for LD23 (COMPO)
Casal Navity is a story of a small creature who lives in somebody's nasal cavity. He faces many opponents that threaten the peace of his home.

I got the idea for this game at the Dawn of the First Day. I woke up to a nosebleed. While waiting for it to end I checked the LD theme. So I made the game take place in a tiny world, a nasal cavity.

Warning: Not for those with a weak stomach.

Controls:
Arrows - move
Space - jump

The source is included in the download, forgot to mention that and can't edit yet.

Genious. Although falling through the "ground" during the sneeze kind of ended it abruptly.

Thanks for the feedback! :) I'm aware there are still some bugs I should crush, but I dinn't know that one. Thanks!

The idea is absolutely brilliant, the narration was interesting to read and you really nailed the "tiny world" theme.

I died at the blood part, and because the narration is so slow it's a real chore to replay the game. You could try adding checkpoints or something.

Also, lol @ Nenu

I love the story of this little creature and how it ignores exactly where it is! :)
The descriptions of the creatures made me laugh a lot.
Too bad I have to start over every time.. :/
High rate for me! :)

Interesting! Even though a little disgusting, it is surely creative, I would play through it, but died in the second attempt at the blood flood part, and the lack of a checkpoint is a little discouraging due to the time it takes to get back to where I was... But I liked it!

I couldn't play because of some encoding issues - it's look for a file named räg.png, but because of Hebrew encoding on my computer it turns out to be something else - can you compile in unicode, or something? or name the files with simple ASCII characters? Thanks!

Loved the humour and completely original setting. The graphic were a bit too simple for me, Casal looks like Batman.
On the other hand, the narrator worked really well. Nice game.

Oh, I didn't think the umlauts in a filename would cause that much problems. Sorry, people. I fixed it, I guess it's allowed as the bug breaks the game.

Can't run.
Still getting the "Can't load image rag.png" problem, I don't think that image is in the zip?

It's not fixed. I had to change the name of 'r.png' to 'räg.png' for this to work.
The game's pretty neat, although it would be great to make the text flow faster. On my third playthrough I've drown in blood and didn't want to read the full text again, but I assume there's more gameplay. I'd like to see the rest, but without sitting through the whole text again.

...Yeah, the fix failed a bit. Now it's fixed for real. Sorry, people.

Amazing idea! The story is very funny, but it progresses so slow that it discourages replaying after death. Also when the blood started rising i saw only white circles on black ground and then died.

I would try it if there was a Web or OSX version.
