The gameplay is a bit too simplistic and repetitive for me.

Technical:
Works well, interesting use of the mouse as a controller, crisp and responsive movements.

Game itself:
LMAO that's hilarous! What a silly idea! I love it!

I loved it. It's indeed a very simple game, but I see nothing wrong with that. Needless to say, reminds me of street fighter II. The graphic style, animation and sound are very coherent!

I found it amusing, but the game mechanics seem to consist of 'press the button as fast as you can'.

I liked this - totally reminded me of an actual NES game graphically/music/sound wise which is a plus in my book. wish it had been a bit longer.

The graphics are spot on emulation of 8bit times. I find the controls workable and the action fun. A very simple, pleasent game.

Quite a fun little game, I can see how it can become addictive trying to get the highest score. I don't think it quite fits in with theme though.

Damn, that was good. Really simple, but effective little thing. :) And the concept, haha. Those elves are ruthless, man. Also, I miss-read the title as "The Elves and the Shoemaker", which I'm glad I un-miss-read before playing, because it's a good title, hehe.

How did you come up with this? I love the backstory and how simple the controls are.
The character art reminded me of River City Ransom, which actually made the goal very clear right from the start.
Well done!

Fun to play, movement with the mouse is a bad idea though, especially since the elf moves slow and my screen does have a right end.

Ha! This was really fun, albeit incredibly short. The control scheme was a little unintuitive, I expected to use space or X and the arrow keys for a side scroller, it kind of reminded me of that Mario AI competition. But the artwork and the music were spot on NES era. Love the Street Fighter beat up the car gameplay. Nice work!
