This is a simple game I made in 48 hours in which you're a little bug that has to kill a boss after a wave of green enemies... Cool story, isn't it? This is also my first time participating in Ludum Dare and my second time ever making a game. I learned a lot from this and I'll definitely improve in gamemaking. This game could be a lot better, in a technical and in lot of other ways but I think it's at least some good. I'm definitely looking forward for the next Ludum Dare!
I like that the player can land, but the graphics make it look like you're underground. Also, the fact that you can shoot the bullets makes the boss fight pretty easy. Congratulations on completing your second game!
Thank you both for your thoughts about the game! Oh, and the landing was kinda made so that the bug can land on the panel, not the background. That's more like hidden feature or something like that. I'm glad you like it.
The shooting sound started to pitch my ear a bit, so I had to turn the volume down, and maybe some bug flying sound could've easily fitted the game to enhance the audio experience
Nice work with implementing the theme, the background is very cool and made playing the game very pleasant. Could've used a bit more varied gameplay and more sophisticated AI for the boss, which made me just spam space and sometimes move up/down to avoid the boss' spam.
It's a beetle shooter! I was actually pretty surprised at that. I managed to keep most of my health until the boss, when I stopped paying attention a little bit and he chipped me down a little bit. Shooting the boss bullets does make it easier.
If this is your second game, don't stop making games! They're already fun!
Well done, overall.
