Gods Inc. by BlackDogg

[raw]
made by BlackDogg for LD23 (COMPO)
(! I added a new build with a 2x screen size, use it if you play on a big screen :) (640x360 normal size, 1280x720 for this 2x version) !)

Hi everyone, here is my take on LD#23.
My game is called Gods Inc. and you'll act as a God on mission on multiples planets. The main mission will be to help Tribes here giving them food, and sometimes let them evolve also. Each planet bring different situation and objectives.

Hope you'll enjoy it !

My timelapse for the weekend is avalaible here :

Awesome graphics and neat concept. There is still something missing though...I don't know...In the end, clicking farms becomes a bit boring...but not boring in the "this game sucks" way, boring in the "THIS GAME WOULD BE SO GREAT WITH MORE FEATURES" way. Please! Add more features! ^^

It's a neat concept, and I love the way you decided to present the levels and the artwork. I thought it was a little repetitive after the 4th world, and making the connections was a teensy bit clunky for me. But it looks great and it fits the concept very well.

Love the graphics! I wish there was a little more to the gameplay than just feeding tribes, but it was just a 48h compo after all. Great work!

Really nice game! Just shifting food around is quite a mundane task for a god, though. :) Some additional gameplay elements would improve it a lot.

Nice game ! Web version is displaying very small and it's hard to read. Besides, it made me think of Darwinia some how. Nice concept but not fun for a long time.
Realisation is good and the game is fully playable.
Good job !

Nice game, and very attractive ! I wish I had your talent for making pretty pictures. The storytelling is pretty great and the evolution from planet to planet is a good idea. Thanks for the fun !

Great entry, love the graphics and music, my only problem was that it got a bit repetitive near the end of the game.

This is a really great start at something that could be much more in-depth. You have great art and great music, so just keep going and you'll end up with a great game. I kept wanting more out of it, which is a good sign. Good work!

First try: goods feelings but I wanted to do more things. I'm frustrated! So, as many people before me, more features please! :)

Question : There is sometimes two tribes on the planet and I seems to me that I can interact with only one of them. Is it true? Or did I miss something?

I like the graphisms too but I had found difficult to see the different feedbacks or texts in this tiny windows ( I have played on the web)! Therefore, it was more difficult to imerge myself into this tiny universe but anyway, i achieved to do it! A nice work and game!

this is a great game
graphics are very lovely and the concept is great
it's not very difficult but that's okay - a very relaxing experience, perfectly supported by the audio

Something very soothing about this game. Thoroughly enjoyed this.. Make sure you expand some more on this, some great basic gameplay happening here!

Good graphics and sounds, i think that the gameplay could have been more challenging adding some feature (make some rain over the farms sometimes for example) Btw good job, it was relaxing to play it!

Nice concept, though it seemed really repetitive and a lot of waiting. Not a bad game, just not my type of game.

The only default of this game is the lack of challenge. Because of that, it get's boring after some levels. But it's a great start and you did a great work in 48h!

It could use more gameplay variety, but all in all it's not bad. The music is fitting, and the graphics used for the growing cities (and in general) are pretty good.

Interesting idea. I like the music and the visual style. The text is quite small on a big screen (1900x1200).

It lacks something, but I don't really know what. Clicking on farms and waiting for the tribes to evolve became boring too fast and there weren't anything else to do, so even though I love the music and the graphics, I stopped playing without finishing when I reached the point where I had to raise the tribes' level to 8. Too repetitive.

Great style, music, and fits theme perfectly. On higher levels I just sat there and watched though, just something missing. Also, text is hard to read. I had to zoom my browser.

My first reaction was trying all the keys. I didn't actually know that the first screen was a level select. I think a short "Click to select a level" or something would be beneficial here.

With that said, the game seems to have a really interesting mechanic!

I like how you basically turned the whole resources/land management kind of game into one where you're managing stuff over a globe. I also think it was a good idea to introduce a new mechanic or an addition every level so the player remains hooked.

I think if you could try going for some different or game changing mechanics, that would really keep the player hooked for a long time. Like, for as long as I played, nothing was introduced that was harmful to me. Maybe some asteroids come sometimes and I need to rotate the earth so that it doesn't hit the shelter while at the same time carrying food and resources? THAT would be pretty epic!

Overall good job with the game!

I love the music and graphics. Once a village gets to a level where it connects to all the farms, there's nothing to do but wait.

I liked it!

The only thing that confused me was that sometimes I didn't know which tribe was mine and which was the faceless Other that I needed to steal food from. But it was fun!

I like the basic idea and the minimalistic(!) graphics of your game ;)
