Attack of the Tiny People by Catmoo
I didn't quite manage to finish my game within the 48 hours so I took advantage of an extra 3/4 hours on the final day of the Jam to finish things up.
I've created an almost bullet hell style shmup as I wanted to create a different style of game to what I'm used to.
You can move around with the arrow keys or w,a,s,d (I find wasd seem to work better) Space is fire and you can boost to dodge bullets faster with Ctrl, but it does have a cooldown.
I created it in GM8.1 HTML5, and it can be played via the internet or as an executable.
I did really want to create a great menu screen but didn't have the time to sadly :( But the rest is pretty much there, so enjoy!
Also as it's in the style of a bullet hell style shooter you have a red blob on the character, this is your health centre, if it gets hit you get hurt, the rest of you can sustain the hits though. This was in my instructions screen but I seem to of not updated the image in the build I uploaded.
I've tested the game in IE9 and Chrome and it runs at a much faster framerate in Chrome fyi. Also it has sound effects (no music sadly) so I recommend headphones if you want a little sound :)

It feels like a classic (back in the days) shoot them up, with unfortunately some display bugs in FF (the games feels fluider in Chrome, but that's the limit of the engine you're using I guess).
It's indeed hellish/quite hard/not that readable.
I've tended to die horrendous deaths without really understanding much about what was happening.
The little viewport on my big screen also makes it quite hard to see what's going on.
I would have liked less bullets and more controls over what was going on. Or as many bullets bu a bigger viewport to evolve in.
It feels quite finished though for a made in 2-3 days game. Good job.
I appreciated the bizarre sound effects.
Also WASD and space makes ctrl a very awkward button to reach.
