Beer quality depends on some proportion ratios. Guess them and you'll be fine.
Don't forget to upgrade your beer level in the Upgrades menu.
Don't hire too many workers.

At the first run I ended making beer with only water.. it's healthier, but I somewhat miss the point =) at second run I saw the upgrade menu and the game became more fun!! a good egyptian beer tycoon!! beer/20

Oh man. I love homebrew, Pico-8, and ancient Egypt, so this is a total perfect storm.

I wish there were some hints about the ratios. It's a little daunting for me jumping right in. Any chance a "getting started" FAQ might be in the works?

After a few tries, I managed to make it to year 2 month 6 before going out of business. I discovered a few of the ratios, but I experimented too much and eventually ran out of goods.

The game already gives a decent amount of feedback, but I can't help but wish for a little more, even if it was vague (or maybe written in hieroglyphics). Like, if something is waaaay off (10x too much water), a hint about that would be good. It was fun to sell 100% pure water beer, though.

Oh, and the graphics, UI, and sounds were all great.

Looks really cool but the controls freak out on me. When I open the menu it moves to the next level most of the time no matter what I do.

Like x is checked every frame or period of time or something.

It seems interesting, though.

This is glorious.

I'm a big tycoon nerd, so I'm a little bit biased. But this might be the coolest entry I've seen thus far. Graphics and overall style are superb. Fitting a tycoon game - including a readable and decent UI - in 128x128 pixels is a feat on its own.

The only thing I have to criticize are the controls. It seems rather unintuitive to me to hold the button for the interface instead of just opening it with a single press. Further, the controlls inside of the brewing tab are way to sensitive.

Nonetheless, this is an amazing game and I would love to see further development on this one!

Very interesting game! I included it in my compilation video series of Ludum Dare 36 games, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/VSGUm6oLKPM

not really my cup of tea, perhaps it may be because i had a tough time to understand it, but it looks nice, and I feel like if you started simpler and built up to this, it would be a much stronger game, nice job!
