Gameplay was sometimes great, with bell balanced jump sometimes frustrating (when you have the roof stopping you from really controlling a jump for example). They hold a special place in my heart :) Loved the "small" feel of the game, which added complexity to it. There were a few times where the controls didn't quite seem to respond, but I'll just chalk that up to my own fault. Would love to hear a little 8-bit tune to accompany the game, along with maybe some story text at the top\/bottom of the screen to begin each level? Just some thoughts! Thanks for making and sharing this!"},{"author_name":"ehtd","author_uid":"11246","time":"May 12, 2012 @ 6:38pm","epoch":1336847580,"text":"I think it needs something that makes it different in the platformer genre. So firstly: Thank you for playing my game! I know I submitted this rather early, but it's all because I MEANT to enter the Compo, then decided that I would rather enter the Jam due to a multitude of reasons:\r\n\r\n1: SDL Mixer decided it didn't want to work, so no sound could be used.\r\n2: I just didn't put as much effort as I would have if LD23 took place during Summer. So I'll put a good run in for LD24!\r\n3: Motivation and ideas were lacking around the midway point\r\n\r\nI had fun, of course! I wouldn't have finished at all had I not.\r\n\r\nAlso, this is another game that'll hopefully add up to that goal of 1000! We can do it, guys!\r\n\r\nFor those interested in the source: My header file setup is weird, I know, but SDL wasn't looking to cooperate for whatever reason, so that's how it turned out.\r\n\r\nDESCRIPTION:\r\n\r\nBlue's World is the interactive story of Blue, a lone blue square, in a room that was completely blue. One day a portal opens up, and he decides to investigate.\r\n\r\nCONTROLS:\r\nLeft\/Right - Move\r\nUp - Jump\r\n\r\nSYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:\r\n- A computer that can run Visual Studio 2010 applications.\r\n- About 5 MB of space.\r\n\r\nCoded using C++ and the SDL library<\/p>","title":"Blue's World"}
