Save Your Planet! by SFX

[raw]
made by SFX for LD23 (COMPO)
This is my first Ludum Dare game. I'm shocked I actually finished. It was made using LOVE, so it should run on Windows/Linux/Mac. The Windows build comes with everything you'll need to play the game. To run it on Linux or Mac, you'll need to install LOVE v0.8 and run the .love file.

Cool. I made it to wave 10 before my thumb got tired of holding down the spacebar. I think the game could have progressed to more challenging levels faster.

Really good! BTW, I got up to wave 12 :P

Pretty cool! I got to wave 11, although it would've been nice to have some more variety as the game went on.

I really enjoyed it! It was weird that the player character couldn't be harmed, but you did a good job designing all of the enemy types and waves. Music was good too. :)

Check out my game, it's kind of similar.

I get a BSOD when I hit the first enemy. It says: rendersystem.lua:172: attempt to call method 'setSizes' (a nil value).... I'm on Ubuntu.

@Cosmologicon: It sounds like you're running Love 0.7.2. You'll need to be running Love 0.8.

Good game, but it would be much better if you had taken the time to improve its graphics and add some features like more weapons and a smarter IA for the enemies. Good for your first entry. Congrats!

LOL, I loved this, the music got me pumped and was perfect for the pacing of the gameplay.

It felt like I was back in an 80's arcade with a group of kids gathered around waiting for me to run out of coins so that they could try beating the high score.

Go Psychic Giant Go!

It could use some more variety in enemies and game play, but overall it's a very solid entry.

Good help screen. It was easy to understand the rules of the game and the different units.

"I'm slow you can shoot me whenever" lol. finally a game that i can vote for on humor. My biggest problem was that it was kinda slow and easy. For some reason on level 8 I could only move one direction, and I though it was an interesting way of making it harder, but then on lv. 9 it went back to normal and I wasn't sure if it was a bug or intentional.

There are a few games like this in the competition, but i like this one most as you have a good balance of the waves attacking! The music is very cool also!

For a first game, this is pretty neat. The controls are very good and the game is well fleshed out.

Only two suggestions: The game is a tad on the easy side, and maybe using a cannon instead of a giant man would look better :-)

Really cool music, but the game play got boring as it is always the same. You could add some variety of weapons and better AI for enemies.

Nice game, classic gameplay but tiny world themed!

OOOH, reached wave 10! I see that other users have gone far than that, so I'm going to have to play some more ;) Good game.

The radial concept is an interesting twist on arcade-style shooter gameplay - kind of reminded me of a sort of inside-out Tempest, which might be something you could check out for some ideas on how to add more awesome to this.

Loved the game. I was very proud of myself when I didn't take a single hit in wave 13. Waves 14-16 taught me my lesson. Died in wave 17 with 922 kills.

Plus, psychic giant? Awesome.

Psychic giant defending Earth with mind bullets! I love it. Be sort of nice if you kept score of how many enemies you'd destroyed.

@kddekadenz: Sounds like you need LOVE v0.8, not v0.7.x.
