ResourceCollector by SaiKai
I uploaded a post compo version which includes changeable keys(hold enter and press your desired key in option menu), looping sound(darn...i missed that bug),a simple chrashfix(dumb mistake) some more options, automatically collecting resources and best of all !!!! -> holding keys instead of tapping
Your World is in danger of becoming overpopulated...so your government send you to beat some alien butt and steal their precious ressources to maximize your tiny tiny world.
The goal of the game is to maximize you homeworld to a size of 1000. You increase the size through sending ressources to it.(you can do that in the ship menu) other then that...you can upgrade yourself and kill some aliens ^^
The Controls are :
Arrow keys for menu handling
WASD for movement
rightcontrol for attacking
space for weapon switching
hold shift for sprinting
rightalt for sucking up ressources
m for minimap
and t to teleport back to your ship
and press enter near your ship to access it
tip: traveling to the world you are currently on will respawn enemies | entering the ship will heal you
pic 4 is a Tutorial
This was made with XNA 4.0 . All the code, art and music was made by me.
XNA Redist is included in the zipfile.
Please do not vote down if you simply have a problem with xna. I will be happy to help if anything is not working.

In terms of gameplay, I'm not sure I see too much progression or need to go to the other planets. I think they should be smaller or more varied - especially the starting planet, as that forms people's first impressions, and it was getting a bit repetitive after 10 minutes of running around, shooting blobs.
Also, the control scheme is a bit weird; especially having to switch between WASD and arrow keys whenever I entered the ship. Tapping to fire was a bit annoying, as someone else noted. Overall, though, I got on fine.
Sadly the game did randomly crash while I was blasting away on the first planet, after about 15 minutes of normal gameplay.
I also thought it was a shame that the music didn't loop!
Having said that, I kept replaying it hoping it would get past it so it means I was genuinely enjoying myself once I worked out the keys!
The game was funm but, keeping right alt pressed sucks
@s0ulcrusher @Sankacoffee51 the bundled installer was just for xna itself...you have to install .NET 4 seperately
This game has quite a few similarities to the one we made! I like the art and the concept behind the game but I feel that the gameplay and controls were a bit off. The right control/alt keys were a bit of a pain to use but the main annoyance for me was having to keep spamming the button down to attack and also having to press a key to collect resources. There were also a few graphical bugs in the last level. Other than that, like I said great concept and good look and feel :)
Good luck for this Ludum Dare though! I hope whatever happens you're happy with your game!
Apart from that it was nice though, if a bit simple.
