The Chosen by Balooga03
Alone you wake up on the shore of a deserted island only. A flock of strange creatures is shooting through the air.
A giant Pyramid is on the shore and waits for your ritual...
In the beginning I felt like an Island would be a good place to feel lonely and when i started to play around with the music I suddenly realized that being Alone does not have to be desolate and negative like i was thinking at first. It can be quite nice to feel yourself on the inside.. that lead me to abandon all ideas of unfriendly environments and led to the game like you can play it now.
I feel like there could be something more behind the Story of this game, so I will probably keep working on it.
Tools and asset creation:
I have been using Unity3d for development. I am using the built in lensflares I hope that doesn't violate the rules too much. I wanted to make my own but time didnt let me.
also for the textures I have used some photoshop brushes I have downloaded somewhere.
The music and sound effects are entirely made in FLStudio with the help of mostly synthesizers(the waves are entirely synth) but also a few samples i recorded with a h4n1 recorder(footsteps, birdsounds).
Models were done in modo, Textures in Photoshop
I will upload the whole Unity Project in the next days for current lack of bandwith.
Edit:
Instructions:
Use WASD and mouse for movement, q shows the map e hides it there is no mousecursor in the map menu sadly.
The objective of the game is to collect all 6 eggs and place them in the moulds before the the big stones. After each succesful placements you should hear a sound and after all placements the pyramid should have a light on top. Then go to the pyramid then to see the ending.

I think I might come back and play this later though.
And you forget to lock the mouse in web version of game. Few times I almost closed the page with game :D
To ending ... lets say I was not expecting flying pyramide :D. Maybe if it slowly sank in to the sea.
But as I said, music and textures are really great ;)
Keep working, learning, trying :)
There were some negative points, such as the very low frame rate in some places (no doubt not helped by my poor hardware, but it certainly could've done with distance fog or other optimisations) and the rather comical bird AI which saw them regularly flying into the ground and spinning away wildly like purple, winged boomerangs.
I also felt the particle effects would look better if they were less bright. As CAKE once said, 'the ornaments look pretty, but they're pulling down the branches of the tree'.
Overall, though, I liked the music and the mood, and I hope you give this more development after the competition is over.
