It could also have done without the platforming, I actually didn't get past that part since I gave up after a couple of attempts. In your post-mortem you list not being able to implement lots of gameplay as "what went wrong" but really that should be in "what went right" since the ideas you propose would almost certainly have destroyed the atmosphere and mood you created with this game."},{"author_name":"Nonakesh","author_uid":"7335","time":"Dec 22, 2011 @ 6:50pm","epoch":1324579500,"text":"Those ideas were more or less jokes... those ideas were before I completely changed the concept of the game! The platforming part was more or less a filler for gameplay. I just didn't want to make a "art game" without any gameplay at all (it seemed to risky to me...)\r<br\/>\r<br\/>And the cat... I am actually quite sorry for that... at 2 am after 38 hours of modelling and programming (more modelling) i tought it was funny... :\/\r<br\/>\r<br\/>BTW: I really thought that the platforming part was MUCH to easy.. it is probably a disadvantage of programming a game... you get much to good at it! :D\r<br\/>\r<br\/>and one last thing: you really haven't missed very much after the platforming part! I feel like a lot of other "surreal" first person Unity games could learn from this one (environment seemed to be trying to say something, environmental chunks actually "did stuff", cinematic sense to the animations etc). The cat sign did amuse me. I liked the implication the protagonist was doing all this in hopes of getting a kitten.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>The "block road" bit did feel frustrating to me and it felt frustrating in an "unfair" way, i.e., it didn't feel like I was screwing up, it felt like the game was screwed up. Since I couldn't see where my feet were, I didn't feel like I had a fair chance to figure out where on the tinier platforms were safe to land."}],"images":["ld22\/7335-421f61833bc4a2fb7d46e1a1ff007f6a.jpg","ld22\/7335-039b0cbd5fc3efa053a89e75b69afc89.jpg","ld22\/7335-441aa0aa88d85e82a79f7c88d6a4693f.jpg","ld22\/7335-865cd3e1b9168307edcc0949337cb833.jpg","ld22\/7335-9715e808aaedbcb39d523f5abd07969f.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/8491567\/Alone.zip","text":"Windows"},{"url":"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/8491567\/AloneOSX.zip","text":"OS\/X"},{"url":"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/8491567\/Alone\/WebPlayer.html","text":"Web"},{"url":"http:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/8491567\/Alone_Source.zip","text":"Source"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"31648","g_author":"7335","g_event":"LD22","g_eventkey":"8","g_subevent":"COMPO","g_urlkey":"31678","g_title":"Slot Machine","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"219","g_commentcount":"9","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/87574\/7335-shot0.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/87574\/7335-shot1.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/87574\/7335-shot2.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/87574\/7335-shot3.png-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/87574\/7335-shot4.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"If you are lost in the white fog, just run in one direction and you will find the target (sooner or later...
