The Library of Madness by Pre-order Cancelled!
To run, just unzip the folder and run library_of_madness.exe.
Enjoy! This is my first entry into ludum dare. It was created with Python 2.7 and pygame only. Music was created with MilkyTracker.
This is a roguelike prototype and it takes some inspiration from the C'thulu mythos and games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Send me a message on Twitter @protensity and tell me what you think!

Pluses:
+ Mythos creatures that can't die
+ The idea of losing sanity just by being near the creatures
+ The general mood
Minuses:
- I got killed because of the kitten! D: I couldn't change places with it, and got stuck between a kitten and a Creature
- No game over screen, the game just freezes on death.
- Needs to restart the program to play again
Adding an inventory system, or a way to read past notes would have been awesome.
Thanks for the game!
Sorry about the kitten :) congrats on finding it though - there's only two and they aren't exactly easy to get to. I haven't seen a game freeze yet on several computers so I'm really curious what made your experience different. If you re-read this let me know what kind of computer/operating system you were using for future reference.
The other points are totally valid. I would have loved to make some additional tweaks, but I used the time I had!
Nice musical score too!
I liked the mood, but I was too prone to insanity… Good game overall.
