Rover's Spirit by Robmaister
You are a Mars rover, and have recently lost contact with Earth. You stumble across a martian prison and must explore the area.
Controls: arrow keys to move, Z to interact.
This game will run on pretty much any hardware (minimum OpenGL 1.5). On my netbook, only non-power-of-two textures weren't being displayed correctly, but it still played fine.
If you keep your system updated, you'll have .NET 4 (Windows 7 has it by default), but just in case you get an error about not having .NET, you can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24872
Just tested this on another machine, you'll need to have OpenAL installed too. If the game doesn't do anything at the beginning, this is your issue, download and install OpenAL here: http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Downloads/oalinst.zip
You can still play this game on Linux or OS X, you just need to download Mono separately and run "mono /path/to/entry/RoversSpirit.exe"

Good game, but i got lost..
It looks like my game is being put on the DEP list, I've had this happen to me before with completely random programs. My laptop would refuse to play Half-Life 1 because of it. Make sure you've unblocked the exe (right click -> properties -> unblock) and make sure your account has access to all the files in the folder first though. The instructions in the link to add a DEP exception is: Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System settings -> Advanced tab -> Performance Settings -> Data Execution Prevention tab.
Also if you have 2 versions of the .NET framework, that might be the issue, remove the older one.
"This program must run with data exception protection (DEP) enabled. You cannot turn off DEP for this program."
Well that sucks. :\
I don't know if this would be the issue, but if you've got Visual Studio on your system, try the suggestion here: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/projects/pex/wiki/exit%20code%20access%20violation.html
Actually, if you've got VS, try compiling from source.
Awesome job! Great sounds.
A short and simple, yet enjoyable, game. The graphics are okay, but not great. I liked the sounds a lot, though. The "Alone" theme is also used fairly well.
