The Knock by Jorjon
DISCLAIMER: If you are looking for a platformer/arcade game, nothing to see here. If you want a game that challenge your ability to solve puzzles and riddles, with a dark atmosphere and a bizarre story, you are welcome!
A unique experience about loneliness, with a surprising ending. Based in the shortest short-story ever written by Fredric Brown, The Knock features a sliding puzzle, a "cutscene", one character, and requires lots of thinking and observation.
You control a headless person, using the keyboard to move and mouse to click. It's your classic escape-the-room/point-to-click with a twist, in that the last element you need to find is outside the game, as the tip already mentioned.
Please report any bug/problem, but don't write spoilers. This is one of those game that if you know how to solve it before playing, it gets boring.
NOTE: Here's the last tip which you will need to finish the game: "The last syllable is found in the periodic table."

I thought the puzzles were a bit on the easy side. I really didn't like the "hint" -- as far as I can tell, there is no way to figure it out from information inside the game alone. The "check the periodic table" tip should probably be IN the game somewhere.
I really liked the sound effects. I think you could have made a few more graphics so that the "hotspots" in the room change after you interact successfully with them.
Nice the game, and see you next LD! :-)
I like the overall atmosphere of the game - the sound fits well, and I like the way you created the graphics and kept it compo legit. :)
Many games here feel like they end sooner than they should. But after playing your game for 10 minutes and finishing it, my experience as a player feels complete and satisfying.
The story does feel kind of vague and abstract. I wasn't sure where the story was heading, nor did I really understand the meaning of the things I was triggering, but I think that actually fit well with the atmosphere.
Criticisms: With these kind of escape games, there really needs to be a greater range of things to do. The four tasks at present is really a bare minimum. The missing clue would have been better placed in game. eg, a poster on the left wall by the stairs, which when clicked on shows the periodic table.
