About
-------
Dead World is an adventure game with a twist - you play in a world made up of a mixture of the worlds of many other players. Every new area you explore is 'loaned' from the server, and when you die they are returned to the server with any changes you make.

How to Play
-----------
WASD or Arrow Keys: Move
E: Pickup/Putdown
SPACE: Attack
For more help see: http://tombstone.gnomelogic.com:42000/help.html
IMPORTANT: Buildings _must_ be constructed in one of the 4 corners of the map!

Strong start! I was immediately impressed by the overall looks. The server architecture sounds impressive, though I couldn't verify whether it worked. Neat environments, and endearing art style for characters/creatures. The two tracks were fun to listen to, but then it was just silent.

I wasn't able to do anything besides explore, even after trying to arrange items according to the help file. (Did I use the wrong items, I wonder?) The game has promise!

@dcfedor: I've just realised now we never say that you must put buildings in one of the four corners of the map. I have added that to the How to Play section, thanks for playing and giving great feedback!

Yeah, that was a bit of an oversight on our part. We could have done a much better job with the documentation. The music not continuing after the second track is a known bug that we were unable to fix. It also affects some of the sound effects.

To be clear, that's in the 5x5 square of the corner, so there'll be a gap down the side of thinner buildings

Man, the sound was the best part of the game...

I like this game, I just can't figure out how or what I can make with the buildings. Is confusing.

Very clever idea with the server syncing. The two music tracks were hilarious! Well done!

I was giggling at the music while I was trying to figure out what I could do.

I couldn't attack or pick up anything. Neat concept though- it reminded me a bit of Zelda.

@bobboy555: My first suspicion is that your web browser isn't supported. The other option is that the resources aren't being loaded but I can't imagine why that would only happen to some people.

@easlern: Pickup/putdown is E and attack (no attack animation but does kill monsters) is SPACE. To pick something up you must be standing on it, and the attack range is quite short so you need to be almost touching for it to hit the enemy.

I only see a black screen and a "HELP" on the top right corner. There seems to be audio, nothing else though.
I'm on Opera 11.60, on a Windows 7 32 bit machine.

For the record, I got no sound running on Chromium on Arch or Ubuntu

I'd like to thank everyone who praised the audio assets, we put almost an entire day into those. I should just say that while our lyrics were mostly intended to be humourous, the Dead World Blues were also meant to have great dramatic impact, predicated on the planned but omitted feature of permadeath. I think there would have been better thematic cohesion in that version of the game. I mean, is it really Dead World in its current form? Can anyone here truly be said to have "gone and died?"
