Not a bad little game, it would have been nice to have some indication of which zombies move faster and which door gets you out of the floor when it's opened. Jump physics are a little floaty, but nothing that can't be gotten used to. Overall a solid entry.

I liked it, though once I accidentally fell off the edge and had to start the whole game over again. Maybe just losing a heart and restarting the level would've been more appropriate.

@merthsoft I added the instant-death on falling because I thought the levels were too easy... As I think now, maybe instant-deat is too punishing, I'll switch to "restart level" in the post-compo version. Thanks for playing to you too!

Very good game.. I could complete it on my second try... I miss some music. I reminds me a lot old ZX Spectrum platform games.... what is a good thing.

I think you're right that having some sound effects would really sell the game a bit harder. I think the idea is fairly solid, but the one thing I would change about it is that I would definitely disambiguate between jumping and climbing a ladder. I died several times because I tried or wanted to jump but could not because I was standing in front of a ladder and the game interpreted my desire to jump as a command to climb.

A good entry, but I felt that the jumping was a little floaty.

I like the fact that you make monsters spawn by searching for the key. Make the ending door red, so the player will not try to open it ( I did it a few times ). I don't know why but most of the time I had to push X two times to open a door. The floaty jump remind me the old arcade cabins game, I like that ^_^ Nice entry.

@dr_soda, initially the two actions were separate (it was [Z] for jump and [UP] for climb) but in the end I fused them to simplify the interface...

@Benjamin, there is a small timeout between the time the player stops in front of a door and the time he could open the door: just to avoid some sort of "running opening". I decreased that timeout in the extended version, and I applied your suggestion about the red door. Thanks for playing!

Nice ending! The game was quite fun, I really liked how some doors has enemies, so it became dangerous to search for the key. The fact that you have to restart the entire game when you die is annoying, but it's not too bad since once you know the key locations you can get through the levels quickly. The graphics and audio were also great. Sorry, I was too late to rate it.
