Alone - Save your family from an Icy imprisonment by brenthamel
Ok, so here's the deal. I used Construct 2 as my game making software, think of it as GameMaker HTML 5, only better IMO. I didn't get to any of the sound unfortunately as I had some neat ideas planned. The premise was supposed to be that an alchoholic verbally abuses his family, and goes to storm out of the house, when he knocks himself out by tripping. He then wakes up in this prison to find his family frozen in ice. All he has is his bottle to try and save them.
My ideas were bigger than my 24 hours (stupid work!!) allowed me to implement. There was gonna be demon family, a good and bad ending, and you'd have to face yourself! Ooo and there were going to be a couple brief cutscenes.
All things considered, given the fact that this is my first attempt at any kind of game making contest, let alone a timed one, I'm very proud of my entry here. I hope people find it fun to play, there was no time for bug testing or playthroughs of any kind. So if it winds up being incompletable then I sincerely apologize. Enjoy.
You need Construct 2 to view the source. This can be found at www.scirra.com, they offer a free version of the software.
Control
Arrows - Move
Shift - Jump
Z - Attack

There were quite a few bugs left (that I could see immediately: problems with collision of shots with enemies, of the player with spikes, commands screen taking to the game).
But for a game done in half the LD time (!!) I think it was quite well done.
The graphics are nice. It ran quite laggy on my machine. Without the bugs this qould make a good game as the jumping works quite fine.
