Garbage Hero by HighQuality
Not too many years ago, our mother earth got destroyed by people throwing their junk into the nature.
When human kind realized this they started launching their garbage into space.
They soon realized this was a even worse misstake because when they had to leave earth, there were nowhere to go.
So they put up a reward for bringing back all their garbage to the planet.
That's where you come in, control the Garbage Drone(TM)* and collect as much junk as you can.
When the spaceday reaches it's end (even though there are none) you can sell the junk you've collected and purchase upgrades for your ship with the money.
Although be aware, people who are shooting at you are not friendly and should be eliminated ASAP.
Tools used:
Visual Studio C++ 2008
SFML 1.6
Photoshop
GameMaker's sprite editor
Controls:
WASD - Move your ship around
Space - Shoot, activate menu item
Arrow Keys / WASD - Select menu item
Other stuff:
This is my first C++ game and my fourth Ludum dare entry.
If you get stuck somewhere just drop a comment and I'll get back to you about it.
Also, I'm sorry about full CPU usage, I ran into a last minute problem with the accuracy of sf::Sleep() causing half FPS and had to uncap it.
I hope you enjoy the game!
Please leave me a comment with some feedback!
Thanks for an awesome LD,

@Pierrecc
Yeah, I ran out of time and had to go to sleep when there was 3 hours left of Ludum Dare, after I submitted the game I thought about making the asteroids drop more junk, which would give the cannon a huge purpose but put you in danger (Thanks to the asteroids multiplying).
I also thought about making the upgraded ship regenerate the shield for free, because right now it's pretty much suicide.
Anyways, I might continue to work on this getting an external graphics artist and actually putting as much time as I'd like into it so I can add all these cool details.
Thanks for the comments,

Upgrades are fine, first 2-3 days are boring as hell and shooting mechanics needs a rewrite.
