Study up on tech BEFORE the compo starts. I spent a good chunk of time doing FlashPunk tutorials and things just to get my game going and it wasn't until Sunday where things really pulled together.\r\n2. Keep it simple. I over-scoped bigtime on my game here and had to hack together gameplay at the very end. There is so much I wanted to do, but just no time.\r\n3. Learn how to make music. I can do the art, coding, and effects just fine, but I am hopeless with music. It's rare, but try and 'zone' at least half a tile away from collidables. Also, it sometimes goes funky if you change zones too much (primarily around 1-1 and 1-2).
