The Great Unescape by geckojsc
A short platformer about a man who accidentally escapes from prison and has to find his way back and sneak into his own cell.
I used SunVox for all the music and sound, coded with AS3/FlashDevelop/Flixel and used DAME/Fireworks/GraphicsGale for the graphics and maps. Enjoy!

I liked how the enemy movements seemed timed to perfection for someone who didn't spend an unseemly amount of time making a jump :P The timing was good, my aim wasn't.
I had a slight difficulty with some of the colour choices. Most of the time there was a clear distinction between solid and not, but the bridge in the second level had me freaked for a moment (with no checkpoints I was being paranoid about touching stuff) among other things. Ignoring the palette, the feel of the graphics were quite delicious.
I'm hoping it was just my system, but the music seemed to mess up several times. I tried reloading the game but the invariance persisted. It's most notable right when the superhero teleports in. I don't know if this was intentional, but it also popped up in the second level's music at a late point of the track. Besides that little popup the tracks were actually delicious. Smooth, mellow; reminded me of a lot of music I heard from Cyrex in times past.
The no checkpoint system is a bit harsh for my taste, though. Mostly because some enemies seem to spawn at a random point, making it somewhat unpredictable. Playing the same level over and over again is somewhat tiring; I only played the first 2 levels.
But the great storyline, nice soundtrack (though with some hiccups), decent graphics - I agree with Tellus, the bridge was confusing - and fair gameplay all made this a definite five outa five.
Glad you're all enjoying it though, really encouraging!
Normally I'm really into platformers but some choices you made got me grinding my teeth a little. Like all those blind drops into potential enemies and large collision boxes.
Also fell off the map in level 1 and when I died in level 2 it did the intro sequence again but never opened the door for me again, so I was trapped forever :p.
Can't believe I missed out the left wall on the first level, I never thought about going left there, funny that people instantly went the wrong way on purpose.
Audio was excellent, but I too encountered strange problems like Tellus, it seems some of your audio files used in intro are corrupted.
