I'd give the player a trail on the first level to give them a hint, as it also looks a little like it could be a loading screen. Might also want to speed up player movement a tad. Well made, looks good, fun to play. Makes you think a little bit, but not hard."},{"author_name":"alexlarioza","author_uid":"3079","time":"Aug 22, 2011 @ 7:07pm","epoch":1314039720,"text":"Very cool idea, but as the person said below, the controls are not obvious. This might turn away a few people because they won't know how to play the game. I managed to figure it out by clicking the screen haphazardly. Anyway, I really liked the concept and overall feel of the game. How did you make the soundtrack?"},{"author_name":"gimblll","author_uid":"78","time":"Aug 22, 2011 @ 7:54pm","epoch":1314042540,"text":"Yeah, the controls could've been more obvious. It's vague on purpose, that you have to find out what to do yourself but the biggest mistake I made in hindsight is that holding down your mouse button on the dots don't give you any feeback. That would've probably made it more obvious. But what can you do, it's too late now. :)\r<br\/>\r<br\/>The soundtrack was made by mixing all kinds of weird sounds in Audacity, slowing them down and using some random filters. The idle soundtrack has at least rain, nails scratching on things, breathing, some kind of a faint chorus type of track and heart beat mixed together. The moving sound has some more brighter bells and such. That's about it."},{"author_name":"Farfin","author_uid":"4268","time":"Aug 22, 2011 @ 9:58pm","epoch":1314049980,"text":"I really wish I could have "drawn" the whole level path in one go in addition to moving one space at at time. Very simple but very good graphics and audio combination and a good amount of levels. Very well balanced. Congratulations! Go play! :)\r\n\r\nThe concept of the game is that the protagonist is locked in her nightmares and needs to find a path out. Simple as that. It contains 16 puzzle levels, should take maybe 30 minutes to solve them all.\r\n\r\nThe game looks quite bad in the screenshots, but I'm pretty happy how it looks \"live\" once it's animated. Also, the whole atmosphere I think is what went well this time.\r\n\r\nOn the gameplay side itself, it turned out to be a really easy game, and I had a hard time building puzzles that aren't obvious. And I'm not at all happy with monster gameplay. It would be interesting to know if some better level designer could pull better levels out of the mechanics. So all in all, the gameplay side this time is a bit of a dissapointment. \r\n\r\nOverall I'm happy with what I came up with this time, considering I had such a hard time with it on the first day. Happily it all came together on the second day (altough the game is no where near what the original concept was).\r\n\r\nProgrammed with Flash Develop, graphics drawn in Photoshop with Wacom and sounds done with Audacity + microphone + sample library.\r\n\r\nSource is a bit of a mess, but it's available if anyone cares.\r\n<\/p>","title":"Dream Path"}
