I've always liked this kind of game. Was the original called Boulder Dash? A digging sound effect would have been nice, as would some music. I though the opening level was maybe a little bit too hard also (I feel like the original didn't have impassable walls besides boulders). Overall the game is definitely playable! :)"},{"author_name":"accidentalrebel","author_uid":"5728","time":"Aug 23, 2011 @ 4:59am","epoch":1314075240,"text":"Same with offwhitefox. Hard to predict where and how the rock will fall so I resort to trial and error. A really neat game though. I like puzzles like these."},{"author_name":"Monastery","author_uid":"6216","time":"Aug 23, 2011 @ 3:10pm","epoch":1314111900,"text":"I kinda miss the 'usual' beginner levels, where you learn about all the physics, like how rocks move etc... and I miss a "reset" key - always ESC and restarting after getting stuck aint fun."},{"author_name":"johnfn","author_uid":"3187","time":"Aug 25, 2011 @ 5:21am","epoch":1314249360,"text":"Nice little game - I like puzzles. My only problem: the rocks seemed to fall in totally random or irrational ways. I could not intuit their manner of falling at all. That made for some frustrating gameplay."},{"author_name":"Shigor","author_uid":"5242","time":"Aug 27, 2011 @ 3:23pm","epoch":1314458280,"text":"Functional boulder dash clone. If I wasn't so accustomed to Supaplex and it's controls, still by far the best game of this genre, I'd enjoy it much more, this way I was getting constantly killed by boulders."},{"author_name":"Jedi","author_uid":"4799","time":"Aug 28, 2011 @ 11:48am","epoch":1314531780,"text":"Good entry. It could have used: music \/ more sound variety, levels with ramping difficulty, reset key.\r<br\/>After I realized boulders can stay on my head until I move and (round) boulders will roll off one another if they can, I was able to beat it with some diligence :). It's a "fair" game once you know the mechanics, so the puzzles were very rewarding. Still, this would've been a better experience for all if there were some easy levels."},{"author_name":"mrdoddsi","author_uid":"6576","time":"Sep 4, 2011 @ 3:57pm","epoch":1315151520,"text":"bull crap!"},{"author_name":"Leech","author_uid":"6674","time":"Sep 13, 2011 @ 12:58am","epoch":1315875180,"text":"A bit frustrating and boring"}],"images":["ld21\/5357-d065babf65beb916ab99693742eb9f0f.jpg","ld21\/5357-fbf0b2390de190587501ab032874565a.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"http:\/\/www.mediafire.com\/?mzdob3d9nhm6ovn","text":"Windows"},{"url":"http:\/\/www.mediafire.com\/?7af0mj142ca3aab","text":"Source"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"32646","g_author":"5357","g_event":"LD21","g_eventkey":"7","g_subevent":"-","g_urlkey":"32676","g_title":"Captive","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"290","g_commentcount":"11","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/62148\/5357-shot0.jpg-eq-900-500.jpg","http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/62148\/5357-shot1.jpg-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"Captive\r\n\r\n\r\nCaptive is a game created in Blitz3D (www.blitzbasic.com) for the competition Ludum Dare 21.\r\n\r\nIt was created by Martin Cooke on behalf of Drytree Studios.
