It is indeed hard but it does stay fun.
Maybe just a little off theme, you missed the "take this.".
Being the "dangerous" stuff was a nice take on the theme though :)
Thanks for the nice comments! Yeah, there's a huge difficulty spike in there somewhere ... I was hoping to build a bunch of levels to go between the tutorial and the endgame, but I think I accidentally skipped right to the "okay now try THIS bwa-ha-ha" part. Glad to hear it's all working wel, though! Thanks again.

Cosr: In a hypothetical revamp, one of the top priorities would definitely be more than four directions of sprites. There's a definite element of arbitrariness here because of that limitation. Glad you liked it!
Dark Acre Jack: Drawing the main character sprite was actually the first thing I did, as I was figuring out the gameplay details. I think the frog monster with a funky walk ended up informing the rest of the execution. :P
The music is great, and you've come up with some really solid mechanics... like the buttons for controlling the sliding walls and the transparent areas that only the player can move through.
This is a really great game! I dig it!
I actually found the game was too easy...
I almost didn't use the traps at all, my tactics was mainly to stay in the grass and waiting until someone is close to me... If there was a way to force me moving around this might make the game more challenging...
I really like the mechanic! The second last level is tough, but I managed to erm.. eat them all!
The "this" part is missing from the theme though.
Other than that, nice, rock solid entry!

tzachs: Yeah, it definitely should be more difficult to just grab someone while hiding.
Endurion: The "this" was meant to be the... fuel? ... that you was filling the furnace meter. But yeah, I was definitely stretching the concept of "take this" pretty thin.
