Mr. Shifter by ajayajayaj

[raw]
made by ajayajayaj for LD35 (JAM)
I DID IT! Anyways, here is Mr. Shifter. It is a puzzle game where you can shapeshift your square to a smaller square... and even a rectangle. Try to reach the end by shape shifting, changing colors, and more. I was planning on making this better but ran out of time. Today, I thought that side scrolling would improve this game tremendously, but did not have enough time to implement it (school). I did implement a room system instead. It is on the last level and is a bit buggy, but it works. The music in this game is the first music I've ever felt proud of.

Please tell me if there are any bugs in the game, and please tell me suggestions to improve it.

I also added some shadows, of a sort, tell me if you like them.

Thanks a lot and I am on to rate your games!

The game was looking promising but i couldn't see myself on the third level and was forced to quit. Fix this issue and it would be a good entry

I liked this! There are some interesting puzzles in here, and I think it's worth spending more time on for sure. I will say that it was cumbersome at times to hold both control and space down and also move (my mac only has the control key on the left). Great job!

The game is having bugs. Theme wise its nicely implemented. The controls could be worked upon for smoothness and make game to play bro

@tsedate completely forgot to take Mac keyboards into account. Should have probably used the shift key instead.

Nice game. I got a couple of levels in but then it seemed impossible to progress further. I liked the puzzles though.

I had a good time playing this until it had the ctrl space thing at which point my mac decided it didn't want to do that. Nice job on a fun little game!

@lanestp Thanks! I think I probably should have used shift instead, haha.

@local minimum Thanks, the level with the ball is pretty glitchy since it was made while I was at school on the Monday (on my phone partly, haha). I could have made that system better.

really nice entry~!
level design is great and rich!(a love these multi-scene levels very much!) everythings is smooth engouh ,with the music (it make me feel more want to go gogo ahead! >u< this is important)
then,i found some little points need feedback to you.
1. when i push the button to the border ,i will very hard to push it back again( fortunately, there are R to restart level锛宻o that i could try agian more careful)

2.when two buttons overlap... i could'not separate them again.ToT sadly... (so have to restart )
3.when these button pass by the theese blue portal,it may disappear in some situation锛坕t may have some reason with i am shape-shifting at that time?)
4.in visual aspect,.mostly it very good( shadow ,fade color, and nice/steady colour combination, if the grids in background have more subtle changes it must be more wonderful(now it allitle bit let player feel dizzy sometimes...)
all in all ,great puzzle design and solid game~! cheers
