All artwork and animations and the level created within the 72 hours. Used photoshop for the entire artwork, used single brush (Kyle T. Webster's Claude brush.) Animations are made with Animator and Mechanim in Unity5.
For mechanics, Corgi Engine for Unity5 is edited to implement the 2D platform mechanics.Used a lot of google search, unity forums and stackflow to change and implement the code.
Music is "Jellyfish in Space" by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under CC 3.0.

There were some issues, like that I seemed to be able to get stuck in the walls in a few places, and I got pretty confused on where I was supposed to be going sometimes, but nothing too bad.
I have to say though that the mechanic of needing to wait for your shape-shift bar to refill wasn't very fun. There's nothing particularly exciting about sitting there and waiting for a bar to fill up for 5 seconds. Maybe it would be cool if there were enemies or something to keep you occupied while you waited?
Pretty fun concept where you change into a baloon (?)
Nice art style with the glasses changing position looks fun :)
No audio though :(
Cool idea tho! Nice art.
Overall it was a nice game. Good job!
I wish I could rate this game but something seems to be wrong : my character is always dying the first time I shift shape since I can't shift it back to its human one. :s
Well done!
Also the artstyle and controls are nice :)!
Greetings, bruz
Good job!
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description
The gameplay idea is alright, but mechanics often fall short. People mentioned getting stuck, which happened to me once, too. A more serious issue would be slow movement (played the embedded version, don't know if it should have it fixed or not), but most importantly, I can't quite grasp the rules and objective of the game. It seems whenever I lose all "health" I go back to some checkpoint, but I can't quite see where the checkpoint is, and were constantly going back to the spot right when leaving outside, with 150 atom points. So, even though I'd like to record my progress after getting some difficult atoms (especially the one to the top-right of grandma, aaarrgh), I don't know how and keep going back where I started. Even then, it seems like not all atoms recover where they should. I have no idea what to do with atoms to complete the game, either...
So, it's a game I'd like to like, but I can't quite figure it out to do so. ^^'
The first time I played, the first time I used the shapeshift power the character wouldn't go back to its human form even if I released shift or pressed the space bar.
This time it worked just fine uptil the dialog just after the character tells about his brother, I experienced the same issue : I would release the button but the character wouldn't shape shift.
I'll try again the desktop version. But apart this issue, it already looks like a pretty solid entry ! Music, puzzles, graphics, gameplay are really good and there is even a narrative ! :D
@Freank So sorry! I will upload it today after fixing some final bugs and slow movement :) Thank you so much for letting me know!
One thing I want to mention: I had to add "Z" key for shapeshifting along with the "SHIFT" key since there was a bug in WebGL that prevents "SHIFT" to be released automatically. So make sure to use "Z" instead of "SHIFT" in WebGL if you do not want to stuck around! :)
I was so upset there is no ending, which means there is no goal at all :(
to bad to not have more levels and an actual real goal
In the jam version, which button corresponds to "A"? I couldn't figure out how to interact with the small monolith.
@ryjcio @whilefun @Thomas Olsson @Lumicgames @gelisam @Gord10 @JayProg Thank you so much for your lovely comments and feedback! I didn't have a time to add a goal other than exploring all the environments and talk to every shape in the game to understand more about it, but I will have a full narrative and a goal for game's full release!
I really dig this kind of artwork, and the gameplay can get a bit confusing when talking about the direction you may follow, but this freedom isn't a problem after all!
I loved the endry, good job.
Good job overall, art and story are lovely, by the way!
I found it a little slow paced with the timer to shapeshift, but overall it's a really nice entry!
Watercolor is also a nice choose,i had seen serval times people use this type style in LD,but you are the best until now... otheraspect, i once also built a similary character with the same tech(unity animation,i use 4.6) so when i see "less" ,there are also some kind feeling in my heart. i also found that your built the hero's leg animation very smooth and natural, this very nice!(also so curious to know how you built it)
otherwise, you really give a good consideration for the fall animtaion..in the jam version, i most like part in this scene is just the moment when i falling to the Bottom and the text-ui pop up one by one!(with the rising wind) the feeling really beauty and just like i am flying! i think this may worth to expand or explore in the future version...of course, these subtleties animaiton of the hero and these cute bottom-block's disappear both let me feel pleasant surprise ^ ^
then the post-version also played, realized the level have so many new change~ also have more new subtleties effect/detail, unexpectedly a little bit hard than before haha~ i think ,the camera's offset may a little bit too quick, because, for me, i like to left right right lift(suddenly left; suddenly right)when i am flying(shifting),so, the camera will so shake and blast!ToT another point about UI-item(i also saw it has new built in post-version) ,Did you see there are some dark-red in the energy-bar's bottom? I found that it always let me feel my bar is just near to empty(maybe because the "real water" in the bar was more weak contrast than the red in the bottom of it)
Maybe that's all~:P finally i really want to say that so happy could found your game in this LD, it gives me a period of relax time~ Cheers!
I also want to thank everybody who gave me any feedback on this game, every one of them was so helpful to get me to gave a post-jam link and a decision to make it a full release. Please feel free to connect me via my Twitter account @medidog about updates in the future.
