It's possible (and pretty hard).
OK game/experiment.
But why mouse die if safe is to the right?

That's due to the mouse rotating slightly when hitting the safe, causing the top of the collision box to touch the safe. I've put up an update that doesn't let the mouse rotate and fixes that problem, but it's a little less fun now in my opinion without the mouse flipping around.
