So I never got the game quite where I hoped owing to the misunderstandings of am and pm (I thought I had another 12 hours - oh well). Anyway, enough whining.

Important:
I haven't had a chance to test the volume on other systems and I noticed I'd been working with my headset on half volume. Try turning down your system volume beforehand; just in case.
The file is about 2.5 megs in size, so it could take a moment to load up. It's hosted on a 10 meg/sec line, but your speed may vary.

Instructions:
Click the title to start.

1, 2 and 3 selects weapons (cannon, flak and bomber) to counter three different enemy types (tank, bomber plane and bunker). Aim with the mouse and fire. Simple.

If an enemy reaches your army intact, you lose 10% health.
For every 10 enemies you kill, the war proceeds (stuff in the background explodes). 1 shot = 1 kill.

The game can start and end. Unfortunately, it never got farther than that.

UPDATE: retouched a few things, a few out-of-range glitches. I won't touch it any more. Anything else requires more than the allotted time, definitely.

I won't work further on the game, I think (the code's a terrible mess in any case). Consider it licensed under a very liberal creative commons license.

Great little game! I wonder what it would be like without needing to use the mouse: just select 1,2 or at exactly the right time might make it more fun and eliminate any issues with aiming. Great work.

Liked it! :D This could actually be a really good game if you worked on it more.

Fun to play ! Good entry :)

With some polish, and maybe a difficulty scale that goes up quicker (it does get boring around 60 kills, difficulty/speed doesn't go up in a noticeable way) it could be very good.

I'm not sure what I think of this, I didn't think it was all that fun, and it didn't seem to be very challenging, but the idea is sort of interesting.

pretty awesome! I agree with Yrael, it could get a little bit harder faster. Also I think something strange is going on with your parallax scrolling, the background layers should go slower than the foreground ones.

I did get my fingers mixed up on the keys a few times, which I liked, it made it feel kinda like a rhythm game.

Too easy, I think. And I didn't see any stuff exploding in the background. But the basic idea and the presentation is okay.

By the way, it reminds me of the old school moon patrol. :)

I never was in danger from dying, but the gameplay seemed sound.
