Metalmorphosis by swimminginlava

made by swimminginlava for LD35 (JAM)
It's a game set in a post-apocalyptic universe overrun by semi-sentient robots. Accompanied by your semi-fluid metal pet, you must defeat your enemies and survive in this harsh junkyard wasteland.

We originally were planning on having more abilities like flight/double jump, shields, rockets, etc. All of these would have to be switched to and could be combined for more powerful attacks. Your pet would morph into the necessary item so you could use it. That would have been our "shapeshift" effect. Due to time constraints however, there is currently only the silver gauntlet punch ability.

Despite the lack of the main shapeshifting feature, the game feels playable and I have had fun with it. Also, that background art looks really nice!

you did a great job on the mood and graphics there! the dr who K9 dog matches perfectly and they have a cool "shape shift" attack, but i think you can improve the whole shapeshift theme.

I honestly wasn't much of a fan of the music, but the graphics worked pretty well - would have liked to see less mixing/matching pixel sizes but it was immersive none-the-less.

could add some more GUI elements, such as armor to make it a little more interesting.

Looks great, sounds amazing...juuust a little bit of performance issues. I have a TERRIBLE setup, and it just couldn't run the game smoothly. And I get that the dog "shapeshifts", but it really wasn't a core mechanic, unfortunately. Still, amazing graphics and sound!

Great atmosphere all around. Good graphics and nice music, unfortunately I think there were no sound effects. The controls could have been a bit tighter I think. I didn't like the normal mobs, since your attack has a wind-up and its weird to calculate when the mobs are on you, but the bosses were neat.

Hi, nice game ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #35.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description

Enjoyable platformer with cool boss battles. I'd have gladly played more levels. Maybe it's a little too easy, but nice nonetheless.

Kinda hard to play, pretty though. Now I am off to try and make sure I didn't install a trojan. Am I the only one who got an alter about this trojan:
