The Adaptor by Tristan

I made this game while learning how to use the Flixel game engine. In the game the control keys depend on what color the
character is currently stepping on. I wanted to create more levels but I'm afraid this is all I could do with the time limit. I'll probably improve the game after the competition.

Controls
Red blocks-normal arrow keys
Blue blocks-reversed arrow keys(left is right, right is left)
Green blocks- WASD keys
Space-Jump

I got the music for the game from http://www.playonloop.com/

By the way I know its quite clear, but just in case, the player has to "adapt" to the changing controls.

I got to level 5 (I think. It was the level where you have to double back at the end). I had nowhere near enough time.

A very difficult game! It took me a while to work out what to do on green squares!

Moderately enjoyable. I think the game is taxing enough without needing the advancing wall of death AND the holes to fall through.

Fun little game. But extremely challenging. Maybe the first few levels should be a little easier...

Very challenging to get the controls right. I generally found that jumping from one color to the next was far easier than just walking.

On the level where you have to double back, the red blocks on the top layer seem to act like green blocks. This led to some confusion for me.

Thanks for the critique. I had to rush the levels since I was learning Flixel for most of the time. Didn't have the time to playtest it with other people except for my bro who(despite not being a gamer) seemed to find it easy.

@kblaney:hmm..seemed I missed that.let me check that out. Thanks!

Seems to be fixed, Tristan. Thanks. Actually, the more I'm playing it, the easier it becomes. That is, I'm adapting to the controls and most of the challenge comes from that adaptation.

I keep coming back to this game. Will it be on Kongregate or anything in the future?

Hey! I posted it on Kongregate here: http://www.kongregate.com/games/caladan21ph/the-adaptor

I'll be improving the game to see if any more ideas can be squeezed out of it. Glad to hear you like the game.:)
