(Mono no) Aware by ThommazK

[raw]
made by ThommazK for LD35 (JAM)
How many shapes do we assume when we become sentient of the impermanence of life? And how do we continue to move on through the change of seasons?

(Mono no) Aware is a narrative-driven platformer that discusses these questions. Made by a Brazilian LD site, its art style combines watercolor and pastel techniques in a subtle, interactive experience.

It might take a while to load (it's pretty heavy!) but we think it'll be worth the wait, so please be patient! Thank you for playing. :)

PS: Some people had trouble pushing the stones, hold X while doing so. It should make things easier.

About the audio, we designed the sounds, but had problems implementing it. We'll fix this as soon as possible. Thank you for the comments!

Very interesting visual style. I'd have liked to see the theme more directly impact the game mechanics. As the character says, sliding on the ice WAS fun though :D

...I'm happy that I decieded to play another game... If audio would have been included I would be able to rate everything 5/5.

As everyone else is saying, great job with the art and feel!

However I would suggest making the 'hey click me' icon a bit bigger next time - I didn't see it until I was WAY out of the house, and had no idea what I was going until I restarted. Stiil, keep at it! Music soon, hopefully? :)

Loved the artwork. With some ambient sound effects and music this could be really incredible

Pleas keep in mind for your next game that not everyone has a n english keyboard x and z aren't always close together.

Nice game, you should edit the descripcion to add a clear part showing the in game controls, and gameplay seems slow even for a story driven experience, i think sound will help with this.

what a lovely game! the graphics were beautiful and very unique.

the only thing i would change would be the text scroll, i kept accidentally skipping text because i thought that clicking x again would reveal all the text before skipping it.

I really liked the story and the use of the theme. However, I felt the game was way more slow-paced than it needed to be.

I got curious about the name and had to search what '哀れ'* meant... only to learn that the title forms a single word. Great title, right on point for the game! =D

* I don't know if it'll be displayed... =/

Neat aesthetic and pretty well done aquarelle art work. It could be more interesting with sounds so as to increase mood/ambient. However, this is a great entry. Thanks ++

@Rock Eaters

Just leave the house like you did before after getting the mushroom in the cave, there are four seasons in the game.
