The game always ends ( Game Over ) before I get even close to anything I could collide with :(

Sorry didn't have much sleep when I played yesterday. So at first i got it totally wrong and tried to avoid colliding with anything at all (should have read more carfeully). Still it says game over frequently when I do not hit anything (like stones) and sometimes directly after the start when the first things I could collide with aren't even halfway through the game-screen.

But I could make it to an island in the end. I whish there were more items that had different effect. Made me curious when you said we should collide with different things to see the effect. I liked the guys hat :)

Yea, I know there are a few bugs after restarting and other stuff but what hat? Jack doesn't have a hat yet....

oh wow ... now i see it. I thought it was a man with a hat and a cape from a view behind and above him ^^ What is meant to be water streaming behind him was interpreted as a cape by me :)

I don't get it... I always get killed even if there is nothing around me. I'm beginning to wonder if something is wrong with my flash player... :(

Im sorry but i dont have this exact problem but i do know that sometimes there is a problem "stopping" the game at certain game screens like game over and that may be a problem you cant see the stones or fishes, I will probably fix some code up later and update it on my website http://mozzo.host56.com/games

I liked the fishes and that the fishes on the start screen were links to different media. Now I have seen your previous game on Youtube.
There was also and end to the game which wasn't too difficult to reach (I didn't have bugs). With an Ludum Dare thats a good thing, otherwise most people wouldn't see the ending.

Pretty fun, but buggy. (Aside from the random deaths already mentioned, the score started out at 10, and at one point it started decreasing.)

Even though I know those are Jack's arms, I still like to believe that he's a silent movie-style bad guy wearing his top hat while swimming.

The score is supposed to start at 10(a little work around for bugs) and if you miss to eat fishes the score is decreasing giving you another element to death.

On the other note, silent movie-style bad guy just gave me an idea, thank you :)

Ah, I'm sorry for pointing out bugs that weren't actually there. :-)

Somehow I couldn't stop thinking about how different I conceived the main characters sprite than it was intended. So I thought I'd do a quick sketch of my interpretation (actually two different ones) just so you know what I mean. Here it is:
