SpaceDiver-header.png

Dive in space and collect stars. Plus cute planet. What more do you want?

Goal of the game is to collect all the stars and land on platform. Less use of boost means better score.

SpaceDiverGIF-02-Edited2.gif

There is 8 pretty basic levels. There wasn't time for more. But it's fun trying to beat your score. Also check out leaderboard at the end of each level.

Controls

  • Boost -> Up arrow key (or W)
  • Rotate -> Left/Right arrow keys (or A and D)
  • #### Restart -> R
  • Pause/Menu -> Esc
  • Music -> M

Great work! It's really fun to play, but I had some difficulties with controlling player. But after a while I used to it. it's hard to have good score with limited boost. Nice graphics, I like smile of the planet :D You could add some key to stand up because it's hard to fly again when you stuck.

Nice and simple, but fun - love the cute planet :-)

Fun, and simple as the small world it is :smile: Maybe you could add a reverse propulsor for those cases when you land head-on on the planet, especially in the corners made up by the trees and the platform; and a sound to play when the platform is ready for you to land back.

Nice work! Marked down for rating it later :wink:

Nice, cute graphics and gameplay. We had a similar concept for our submission.

@breadmower @homineludens Thanks for checking the game out. I hope you had fun.

@fedor @davikin92 Thank you for your feedbacks. I had a long list of features and fixes to do but at the end i barely was able to make the game work in time. I'll add your suggestions to the list :sweat_smile:

Cute planet loves you :kissing_heart:

Really fun! I spent way too long trying to beat the high scores on the early levels :smile: I would suggest adding a level reset button for when you screw up trying to get a good score. Other than that, I think it's a fun small game that fits the theme well. Good Job!

It was so hard! >.<

I had very fun completing it though! If you are wondering how hard (for me) you should be able to see it in the leaderboards. I was the one with the name "NeTsune". I also found out something. In some level (I don't remember which one) the resume button didn't work. I don't know if this happens in all of the levels since I didn't test it. And as @gurbx said, it would be nice to have a restart button. But anyways this was a nice game, really enjoyable! More levels would be nice!

This game is incredibly fun! I think one way to improve it would be to increase the gravitational pull slightly the planet has on the player so you can potentially get stuck in an orbit around the planet :yum:

Very nice! I think it would be more convenient to use the boost continuously, you could change the score in "boost seconds" instead of number of single uses. (p.s. It's a koala in the astronaut suit? :slight_smile:)

Planet gravity is just so much fun. I found myself thinking "oh no I missed!" and then realizing I would orbit all the way around anyway. Great use of that mechanic to make a puzzle structure. This could get really interesting with more puzzle elements.

I know people come fishing for their own reviews, but you should check out my game, it's like your game's evil twin. Normally my games are just as packed with cute planets, but for some reason I am on the other side of the fence this time. On that note, the planet is super cute. It needs to be a sticker on someone's laptop.

The orbiting mechanic is tons of fun. Some of the levels got repetitive with only small changes made to them. It would have been cool to see a couple more types of obstacles, but the core gameplay was really fun and the art was cute.

Really good game ! Graphics are really cute, love the atmosphere, and the gameplay idea is really smart and intuitive. Adding a Leaderboard was a great idea too, I tried to get in it, just need to understand how to optimize the 2 last levels as well.

Great entry ! Congrtulations ! :thumbsup:

*EDIT :* Yeah ! Made it to the current top 1 ! :grin:

Fun game!

Easy to understand, great gameplay mechanics and nice bonus features like leaderboards and high score. Is level 9 and up unlockable? Otherwise i think some more creative maps that explore the concept would have been an nice low hanging fruit to add to the experience! Well done!

Great little game, very fun to play. Cute graphics and sound made for very relaxing play, would love to see some levels with more than one planet to step up the challenge. Great job :slight_smile:

#### Thank you all for your feedbacks. It's really appreciated.

@fingamer Thanks for reporting the bug

@nickzangus I did not go for that but it can be a Space Koala :koala:

@erik-larsson,@jones Making levels was the last thing i did and i only was able to build 8 levels in time. I'm gonna add more stuff soon.

@yami-no-tenshi-8 :astonished:

### PS: R is the restart button

Geeee, it's so cute but I'm so bad at it, haha. <3 It's difficult, but in a way that makes me feel that I can master it once I get used to it. Spent a lot of time on each level before I decided that my score was "good enough" so that I could move on. No frustration at all, just really encouraging!

The graphics are simple but top notch. Very cutesy, and the animations on the planet's face are a great touch. Music and sounds really fitting as well.

My only real complaint is that the pause menu, as far as I could tell, didn't have a button to restart the level, so I had to finish a level even when I knew that my score was horrible, heh.

Dunno what else to say! Sometimes there's a lot to talk about, but this is just great and that's basically it, haha. Fine-tuned movement that makes the player feel a bit more in control, maybe? Beyond that, just a matter of more levels and mechanics/concepts, should you choose to make a post-jam version. c: Introducing the trees in the later level was nice!

A simple mechanic but since it relies on gravity there's a lot of depth there which is always fun, sort of the "easy to learn, fun to master" notion. I thought it was really neat that you included a leaderboard as well :ok_hand:

Awesome Game! I really love the aesthetics! I also created [something similar](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/small-world-transport), but run out of time before I could make it into a proper game.

Super cute art. Controls and the pull of gravity all felt right. It was fun to get into little orbits. Well executed concept, good job.

Its a cute and fun game! The controls and the gravity are very good made, but sometimes is hard to control the character. Love the planet face and the character ^^
