🤜 The Makers

Graphics, music and sounds are made by Eddy Schäfer @eddy-schaefer

🤜 The Rules

You control your character by using Cards. Each card consumes a specific ammount energy. The energy is constantly decreasing, and if it reaches zero a new "turn" starts. On the beginning of each "turn" the energy is filled up again and 2 cards are drawn.

🤜 The Controls

You activate cards by clicking them. If the card is played, it moves to the graveyard (Passive Cards are not Activated as long as they are not triggered)

🤜 The Idea

The idea was to combine a beat'em-up with a card game... in realtime. So you can controll your player and activate abilities with the cards.

🤜 The Cards

There are the movement-cards, punches, blocking, shooting and healing. Many more were planned...

The Bug that sometimes the timer did not work is now fixed

Very nice! I personally would've preferred simple clicking instead of dragging, but I love the different levels of cards and the 'mana' mechanic!

Excellent use of the theme. I love this implementation of the beat'em-up X card game because it's not just a card game about fighting - it's a card game with a brutally fast arcade tempo. It's challenging to remember where the cards you need are and to drag and drop them quickly enough to beat the meter, making for a technically demanding game. This is exacerbated by the fact that sitting idle causes the player's hand to fill up with cards, making it even harder to find the one you actually want, let alone click and drag it out. The result is a very tangibly skill-based exercise. Tellingly, I visibly improved across my four or five attempts. At first I was only able to stand still firing wildly into the enemy lines, but on my winning run I deftly danced through enemy formations. Difficult as it is to control, you are very much on to something here. I'd like to see this as a post-compo or full release.

Really hectic, love it. Really fast paced, keeps you on your toes. Bit hard to keep up all the time, and the cards start building up a lot. Fun and well made, but too fast to react and use all your cards

A fun idea for a game, really excellent presentation the sound a graphics are really well done. The UI could have been a bit bigger though, it was a bit hard to scan for the card you wanted to play. But all in all, it's a pretty well put together game, Hope you enjoyed the jam : )

A very fun game, as many said the UI could be a bit improved as it's a bit counter intuitive.
Why dragging the card on the field? It would be easier to just click on it, no?
Great game

Seems like two nicely themes put together D:

On the first play I got a bug, the turn didn't end and I was stuck forever. Reload and went allright though.

As others sayed, clicking the cards would add the game a bit of quickness

Very good realisation, personally I think you should make a alternate control scheme for keyboard only, could be fun. Overall, good job.

I've not been able to drag the card on the game screen. I tried dragging it on the highlights and on many other place but it keeps comming back to my hand. Do I miss something?

Liked this one but I would prefer clicking on a card instead of dragging it. But the game was fun and interesting! :)

This is very fun little fighting game. The only issue I had with this game, was that some of the cards is a bit difficult to see what they do, before you use them, but this is really not a bit issue.
