You hade the same idea i had! Very different style thoug :smile:

I feel like the only gripes I have with the game are that the stat increases are a bit subtle, at least until you get to a high enough number. The game also seemed to favor speed over every other stat whenever I played. Also, the little area where you see the stats is a bit hard to see. Maybe bring up the alpha a bit idk.
Other than that, good job! I liked the art, the music is great, and the controls feel good! Sacrificing is also fun, and lets you experiment with not sacrificing at all, or sacrificing all but one of your citizens, etc. It leaves a bit of player determined fun I guess???
Also motivate button easily makes this game 10/10

BOOOM 14:05 no one can beat great game ok graphics but the screen shake and music make up for it

Very catchy tune. Gameplay got repetitive very quickly though. Some varied enemy types and/or some temporary boosts/abilities would be nice.

Loving the minimalism and 8-bit music here, also it plays really nice.

Nice coherent art style, everything feels polished and well put together, from code to art to sound. It's always impressive to see compo entries that are so well rounded as this. On top of that you used the theme in a good way.

Very smooth experience! The controls, graphics and effects feel very polished. I really liked the slow down and zoom effect with the sacrifice selection. Well done!
