In humanity's strive for technology most of nature was destroyed. Now a single squirrel must defend its small world, the last standing tree on planet Earth. In this game you play as said squirrel and shoot the demolition machines with your acorns to defend your tree.

We made the entire soundtrack on our own. To create the soundeffects, we mixed open source sound effects with self-made ones. Except for normal maps the graphics are our own.

The controls are the usal FPS controls with a little extras. This is our first entry to a game jam and we would love your feedback.

This game was nuts.

...

Yeah, uh, the character controller felt great, except for when you hang in the air during your jump. I actually absolutely love the jump. I feel like a face hugger leaping toward my prey. It's great. The game didn't have much challenge, though. Thank could have been alleviated by adding either different enemies, or giving the enemies more than one shot to kill. Great work. :)

Liked the concept, somehow would have liked it to be 3rd person if the focus is on the squirrel character. Fun enough, bit more variation for the gameplay apart from the standard wave based defend the base FPS would have been nice.

Weird one I'd say, nice to see a similar sized team take on Ludum.

Positive
+ Theme was pretty spot on, squirrels little world
+ Complete game, well done for the time

Negative
- There wasn't much feedback for levels etc, I didn't know if it was endless and the end state is just that the tree dies
- Music was alright, but the sound effects were all over the place

Good job getting a 3D game like this complete over Ludum!

Loved the mood and humor aspects especially. The transition from bottom of tree to top was very cool and trippy. I had fun doing a couple of loops and everything ran quite well on my under-powered laptop.

Thanks for sharing your game :D

It's a fun game, too bad it gets repetitive quite fastly. The jump physic is a bit weird but you get used to it, and the absence of a reticle is not really helpful, but aside from that good job !

My most favorite part of this game is the fast long jump. It's an amazing ability! At some point, I can collect so many regular acorns that I can rapid fire the enemies and not run out (although I admit I only did this in one of the 10 rounds I played). I think that the explosive acorn should have a larger blast radius. The music playing during the acorn gathering reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy for some reason. Nice game!

It's not easy to make a 3D game in just 72 hours, so good job! The concept is decent too. The music is not bad, and certainly adds atmosphere to the game during the enemy's attack. I think you should add crosshairs as it's quite hard to aim for the enemies otherwise. The movement was a bit awkward at first, but I got used to it. Maybe you could add different types of enemies to add some variety to the game. Overall, great job!

Just played your game really liked the narrative idea for this, it really merged well with the theme.
Also gameplay is very good too, i just think you should try to make player movement more precise and less faster, it was really hard to jump across the tree there.
But it is really a creative idea with tower defense mechanic with ammunition collect scheme! Great job!

Also, test my compo entry here too, need some more few ratings too now! thanks ;D

Survived until wave 7. It's really fun! Love the design that you teleport between the root and the top.

Jumping speed is kinda too fast (was hard to control at beginning) but overall is an awesome game!

Awesome! Pretty solid all around, very fun . The only issue with the game-play was that it was a little too easy and the fire and normal acorns seemed the same (they both 1 hit enemies). There was a lot of audio, which is fantastic, but the levels were a little odd (could barley here acorn pickup sound) and the drums on the quieter track were a bit fast :P The art was solid, but the texture on the grass clashed with the simplistic style of the rest. The enemies were also quite hard to make out as they blended into the background as they were the same colours. Great job!

I liked the mood, and the camera intro set it up really well. There was something about running off the tree that I really like too :)

I liked it! Took me a bit of time to get the hang of collecting acorns, but otherwise it was good!

This is great, it was easier to shoot incoming stuff from the ground, maybe because you dont see the trajectory of your bullets, would help with bullet drop as it's closer to artillery than small firearms.
