Story

Wouldn't you know it? Your phone's almost out of power, and you don't have your charger. What's more, a very important phone call needs to be answered shortly, and if you don't find a way to charge your phone soon, you'll miss it! There has to be a charger SOMEWHERE in this city...

  • Left mouse button to click on buttons and choices
  • Hold right mouse button to view map (once purchased)

Gameplay

  • City is randomly generated each game; walk near buildings to see if there's anything there.
  • There's one Cellphone store in the city where you can buy a charger. Use in an Outlet to win the game!
  • GPS shows you where you are in the city, but needs 4 bars of signal to use and drains battery extra fast!
  • There are multiple places where you can find Outlets, Wifi hotspots, and Map stores.
  • Connecting to a hotspot and doing a Wifi search will show you if the Cellphone store or any Map stores are nearby.
  • Maps will show you where all the Wifi hotspots are, but nothing else.
  • Some stores require you to make a purchase before being able to use their Wifi or Outlet.
  • Outlets are rare and don't show on any maps or searches, so make note of them if you see them!

Tools

  • Game: Unity 2017
  • Graphics: Adobe Animate
  • Music: Reaper
  • Sound: Famitracker (just pulled open the keyboard and recorded output)

Really cool idea! I like the art style and the animation :) . The game was surprisingly challenging, but really unique. Music was fun and I didn't get tired of it. Nice job!

Nice game! Felt a little slow moving around. Loved the track, though. Had fun playing on stream!

Truly a grippping tale of the modern millenial in today's rude society. It brought me back to my last time at starbucks.

Very cool! Concept made me laugh, especially the part where I figured out you have to walk by buildings to find signal instead of randomly roaming the streets. Great music, too! Wish you walked a bit faster is all.

I think that the concept, overall, is not bad. However, I think there needs to be some sort of way to find an outlet, because it seems like pure luck. I found a charger by 5%, which understandably took quite some time, as there is only one store. But it took until 2% to find an outlet, and it seems very possible that I might not have found one at all.

Aside from that, I would like to know what all the buildings are that don't sell things. I think an improvement would be to make each building have some sort of relevant graphics - perhaps not to the point where you could distinguish the cellphone store, but at least so they would look like buildings.

This was amazing. Random generated city. I felt like I was moving a little slowly which was painful. And overall I wasn't sure why I wanted to find wifi, if I was just looking for the cell phone store. PLayed a few games, never managed to find it.

Really well done. This was great to play, even if I couldn't win!

** What I liked **

__ + __ Music !
__ + __ Overall realisation
__ + __ Funny store names

** What imo could be improved **

__ - __ There should be tension because of battery running out, the character is not even running ! It feels slow where it should feel like a race
__ - __ Graphics are pretty basic, I think there is room for improvement without losing the orientation tips the environment gives.

** Overall **

Good realisation, a bit slow but still enjoyable ! Thanks for the game =)

The audio-visuals are nice. The design also works. Sure it is a bit silly that only one store in the whole city block allows you to use their power outlet.

The major problem is the movement speed. The music becomes borderline epic by the end, but you are still ambling about like there was no rush at all. The ability to run, which uses stamina that you can only recharge by buying trash food at trash stores, would have helped. Maybe even buying a skateboard from one of the stores to slide around with. At that point it would be pretty great to have cars in the city too. Dodging them, until you are distracted by the map and :boom: to the :hospital: you go!

Feature creeping. A slightly faster movement speed might just do it, easy and effective.

Good work!

Really cool idea, I like the random generated city and how you use the minimap.

The game itself felt really slow for me though, and it was kinda tedious to move around at that speed.

I do like the game's look and feel, its concept is also really nice and having a randomly generated city every time you play is great and challenging too! :D

But the pace of the game's kinda slow. Since I saw a cartoony character I expected it to go a bit faster (specially since you're in a hurry).

The game is challenging and fun to play at the current state, though, and I quite liked playing it. :P The graphics are simple, but do the job quite well, and the soundtrack is also really good! ;)

Good job there! Good Luck!

It's made with Unity, so you could export it to platforms other than Windows. I'd love to play/rate it.
