DOHMIERE by Jesus Fermin Villar
A 5 minutes point'n click adventure to save your son.

What would you do if you had your son's life in your hands and his death at your feet?
Joshep Razem has just 5 minutes to save Doh, his son, thanks to one of his famous inventions: the Energy Transfersor.

Hope you like it as much as I enjoy doing it. This is my first project working alone so... It was a hard challenge for me :__)
HOW TO PLAY:
Use "A" and "D" or "right arrow" and "left arrow" to move the character. Use "left click" to click on labels.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, I appreciate so much!
Likes:
- beautiful mood and animation. so dark and yet so mellow!
- the art and "lighting" is excellent
- many details make this a really good escape room game
- riddles are beyond simple click and go
- that ending... both of them... and when you see it coming ...
Try differently:
- some controls are fiddly to select, and the mix of mouse and keyboard may confuse people
- there's a bug where you can take the award multiple times, yet never get out the window
- (it's not clear if you haven't opened the safe that you don't need to get out)
Overall:
- possibly the darkest and moodiest entry I've played so far. (and I've played a dark horror slasher, ha!)
- really like the mix of escape room and point and click adventure
- the character is very relatable and well animated
Great entry!
I keep all you said, i appreciate so much and its so useful for future versions and game progress after the ldjam to improve the game. I have to work on the bugged labels as you notice...
Thanks for play it and thanks for the feedback!!
Needs some work on the language and spelling. Maybe find a proofreader?
A timed game is a really good jam choice.
Yeah the texts are really a problem. Im not native english and i dont really know how to speak or write in english. It sucks, I know, Im working on it step by step.
I appreciate the feedback and thanks for play the game!
Possitives:
- Graphics are phenomenal, it loks great and animations are nice.
- Music fits the mood amazingly
- Awesome mood
Negatives:
- The game is confusing, you don't know exactly what to do.
But it's a great effort for such a short amount of time.
So I went back and did it, cause I wasn't letting that kid die. And... so I didn't let him die.
Absolutely gorgeous visuals. Fantastic dark mood with a bit of hope for the future. Someone's future, at least. Good job!
Some of the buttons probably could have vanished when they were no longer necessary or up to date with what was going on in the game. There also appears to be bug where if you move the chair all the way to the left, you can't access the plant anymore. Would also have appreciated some sort of feedback on whether the game registered that I was clicking on the safe buttons. I spent a long time trying to figure out the number, but I think that's because our cultures write dates in a different order. That's fine, but it just means it would have been nice to know whether I was supposed to cancel out every time I failed.
Well done on the atmosphere and story!
Art was excellent (both graphics and sound), great mood and atmosphere. Animations on the protagonist were good as well. He felt fun to move around.
The game itself had several large bugs that have been mentioned above, such as:
- Chair getting stuck if you keep moving it to the left
- Grabbing the trophy multiple times and breaking the window multiple times
- Drain message staying after draining the tree
Additionally (just comments)
- The safe puzzle was rough. Since you can't guarantee your players will be familiar with your date format, you should consider letting the puzzle accept multiple dates in different date formats. Got stuck here for quite a while and ran into bugs while I was stuck causing me to restart.
- Seconding needing a proofreader, Twitter, Jam Discords, Slack, and Reddit are good for that.
- Small visuals bugs were jarring (clock getting to 4: 5 instead of 4:05, and the messages staying up forever), but not too distracting.
Nice take on the theme! I enjoyed playing.
By the way, thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it so much. I will work harder after this ldjam to improve this bug stuff and make a better project. I keep on my all your advises, are so useful. Thanks for playing it and thanks for the feedback!
Yeah you are right, I have (and i will do it) to work now (after this ldjam) harder to improve the game and fix the bugs. I just tried my best in my first project working alone. I keep on mind your feedback to future versions of the game. Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it!
Overall wonderful atmosphere and experience!! Super good music and great use of the theme!
Im so glad you like it! I appreciate so much!!
I liked the graphics and the mood, disliked the controls and the lack of feedback in general.
I managed to finish the game and was impressed by the end. Well played.
