This is my first time take part in ludum dare.

There are 4 levels with 3 types of enemies. Who can clear the levels without dead * please comment * (I must use cheat code to do so :joy:)

Controls

  • WASD move
  • Space jump
  • LeftMouseButton attack
  • RightMouseButton block

Edit:

I'm sorry that I forgot to announce the music used here was created several months ago by myself. The music is inspired by a similar bug-fighting scene in "Wupoo" SO I OPT_OUT Audio Voting category according to the rules.

The models, photos and animations are created in 72h.

I like the way you created the world here. Adding collision boxes on top of images and then having a nendroid move around in the world but I sure hope someone cleaned up the real mess...

Great use of a classic technique, Is great to see how you use photos as a pre-render scenes, it was an intelligent way to avoid the pressure of time and obtain a good visual quality, also the lighting helps to increase the realism in the 3d objects. the gameplay works fine, the maid was really kawaii and the insects were interesting, I like the shaders in the centipede. The music was good. Maybe could be good to work a little more in the UI design. Good work!

I really like how you made the world by using pictures, very creative.

Congrats for this complete and funny game! The scene of ordinary Chinese college dorm (full of trash) makes me remember the nice old days. On the part of the bugs and worms... well, I'd rather not talking about them  The music makes this game even more horrifying, which is a good thing. Well done!

Oh man, I'm totally going to try that art technique with photography on my next jam. Why haven't I thought of that before?

The waves could be shorter. I died at Wave#9 to that flying shooting insect and didn't feel compelled to try again. You probably could make the particles smaller, sometimes it gets on the way and I can't see the insects or the main character.

Really enjoyed the idea and made me laugh!

Great job!

Cool game. Really innovative on the design, usage of real world pictures and splitting into the 3 dimensional world of the game. Was curious how you did it all. Had to restart the game multiple times to read the instructions. I had fun playing it!

This is really awe inspiring! Granted, I found your game from the technical article explaining how it was done, but, wow, seeing it in action is really something! Great job and a fun game!

Wow, clever use of resources to save time while achieving cool graphics. It was very interesting to see the process, I learned a lot.

Thank you and good job!

Hahah, nice technique for AR. It's like a LBP AR game. Using Real Life portfolio to create a small world. :)

Really cool game! I feel the controls could use be a bit more responsive perhaps, the walking animation makes it difficult to stop when you want to. Otherwise a really cool asthetic!

Fun and original idea for a game. although, the photos could've been shot in better quality .
Also, I believe, that the character should turn towards the mouse.

Other than that, great game an implementation

Nice game and nice write up, good read. I hope your dorm isn't full of bugs in real life ;)
Music was fun but got repetitive.

It was a very fun way to convince people to clean your room for you. I noticed a few bugs (no pun intended) where bugs went through the walls but noting too serious. Some AI for the enemies would be nice. A great game overall thank you for making it!

I love the concept. Using photo to create the scene was a good idea!
I liked the main character and these bugs too

This is a really cool concept for a game, and I love the combination of real life photos and in-game graphics. It's actually pretty impressive how the images act as a real 3D environment: You can jump on top of things, you get properly occluded by things in front of you, etc. The music can get a bit grating, but overall the audio's pretty decent. The gameplay itself feels somewhat slow - I think it may have been better if the waves came faster/were shorter and the enemies were more aggressive.

5 stars for graphics cause I absolutely love the mix of photos and 3D models :D Apart from that it would've been nice if the controls (especially the jumping) were less floaty. Either way this is a really great entry! Well done :)

A fun little game! The graphics are quite impressive, especially the way enemies really move around objects. And 3D models are really good too! I'm not a fan of the mix of the two though but it's still pretty amazing for 3 days. Otherwise the gameplay is pretty simple but works. It can just be a little frustratring sometimes to approach an enemy that must be hit several times, turn a little to continue hitting and get hit in the process. The block action also seems useless.. until projectiles. And like someone already said, enemies could be a bit more agressive. Currently they're just following their path like a tower defense but it's strange as it's more an action game. The music is a little bit loud too (compare to sounds).

Anyway, it's really just nitpicking remarks and I must admit it's a huge work for a jam. Well done!

Amazing global aesthetic - between real room and 3d models. The controls could be better, but for a full game in less than 72 hours, it is just awesome. It fits the theme perfectly. Music is really repetitive, but at this stage it is just a detail. Thumbs up ++

I loved the aesthetic! I really liked that you took your time to make some details! Like the shadows on the tin cans. I thought at first it wasn't going to work, but when you re playing it really blends.

Managed to get to the "Work in progress thing". I suppose the idea could be neat, but kind of hard to implemented. Still a great concept overall!

Maybe the two details are that the music got a little repetitive and that I felt you hat to hit the big bugs way too many times. But really its just nitpicking.

Really liked it, keep up the good work!

Wow, you made a technical prowess with this game. It works .. I mean it is rendering so well (speaking of moving inside the world and perspective)! The music and so models are very cute. We are taken in the universe from the first second that we play! Congratz on that! :bug:

What a fun and cute game! I really enjoyed the technical aspect of it, it was a really interesting way of creating levels! The models and animations were very well made and the overall gameplay was pretty satisfying! In some levels there were 4 levels spawning the one after the other really fast. I don't know if that's what you wanted or if the purpose was for each wave to spawn after you clear the previous. It wasn't really that clear and at first I thought it was a.................bug. Other than that, it was really well made and an amazingly good entry! Great job! :D

Great mix of 2D and 3D graphics. Moving in this world was very interesting; the fact that elements of the world were actually sprites was almost imperceptible. Models, animations and music are super cute. I also liked the way you are moving from one area to another; it was very immersive and funny, but I can't exactly explain why.

I think that if you already have a wave system, it would be nice to make it an actual tower defense. The only way to loose now is to be bitten by a basically rail-moving insects, so it quickly becomes too easy.

Very good entry though.

The concept is really well found! And the game is very fun ! Congratulations !
Small negative point : Music is funny at first, but quickly becomes annoying.
