Manshooter - So Realistic It Hurts by EvanGreenwood

[raw]
made by EvanGreenwood for LD 39 (JAM)

This was a tough jam, we bit off a bit more than we could chew, and optimization/performance was the first casualty. I really hope you can get this game to run on your computer... and that if you do, you at least get a laugh at the detailed tiger animations :)

The conceit is that this is the reveal of a new game distribution platform, back in 2002. The story was one of the things that got cut back due to time, but there are some forum posts inside the game which should give you some idea of what is going on.

There's a lot more that we planned to add, and feedback is welcome (we'd like to learn to tell this joke a lot better).

"Manshooter is 2002's answer to the perfect shooting experience. Nothing is too dangerous nor too beautiful to be killed."

Well, game is so unstable. Have no connection with theme. I'll takie this as joke, it seems like that xD

Hi @risist ! I suppose you played and missed what was going on. The game isn't actually unstable, it pretends to be unstable. That's the (weakish) connection with the theme, that the games are poorly put together and so crash after a while. It is possible to get further in the game than just the first crash.

To be fair, the game is a joke, and it's not told very well. I'd like to learn better how to tell this particular joke.
