Story

(since I didn't have time to add menu or intro screen)

You are playing as a wandering Dot that found itself in a bit of pickle when he arrived to kingdom overrun with Evil. As any hero would do, he promised to save the Princess. However, to make the quest a bit easier, he made a deal with The Evil. Not the best deal, but a deal that gave him a chance to succeed. The deal is to sacrifice sheep at the altar every day. As a reward, Dot will receive protection that helps him fight the evil minions. However, the contract stipulated that not delivering the sheep will cost him his life. You see, that's what The Evil actually wanted as sheep are scarce, but it's your task to help Dot complete this quest, save his life, and most of all piss off The Evil.

Good Luck!

PS: Princess is jailed in the castle, obviously.

How To Play

  • Click on map to move. Dot will go wherever the target cursor is placed, however the path might not be the most optimal (Dot doesn't like to walk on grass too much)
  • Time only moves when you move
  • Hearts will increase your life
  • Shields will protect you from the evil minion dots
  • Collect sheep to sacrifice - you need to sacrifice sheep every day, one on the first, two on the second, etc...

Known Issues

Pathfinding is utterly broken, hope you can still enjoy the game.

Software Used
  • Unity3D
  • Visual Studio
  • Krita
  • Paint.NET
Post Compo

Game breaking bug in time keeping was fixed after the deadline, along with it small adjustments to game "constants" were made (shield strength, enemy distribution)

I like the exploration aspect of this, but sometimes i get stuck in places because i lose so many hearts because of the red dots, and cant move anywhere because i am surrounded by them. But this is still a fun game.

The idea is good, I can see where you were heading. Playing the game was a bit problematic though. The sheep are scattered with a lot of enemies in the way, maybe shrink down the map and reduce the number of enemies to make the game a bit faster. I never managed to collect more than a few sheep before I was hit too many times.

Could have really used some sound and music, but you did a good job on the theme. Some feedback when getting hit would be really effective(a little camerashake, hitflash, sound, etc..). I like the wander AI for the enemies, except there are two many of them.

I really like that you need to look for the castle in the forest but I never was able to find it since there were so many evil dots and I died because I got too lost in the environment because it looks a lot of the same. Maybe adding some "landmark" type stuff (like a bigger tree) in the map might help for better orientation for people like me? Nevertheless I enjoy the idea, it fits the theme very well and has potential to be even more fun! ALso I really like the art style of the forest!

It has a different mood when playing, i liked it. You can improve that game. On the other hand, I think going back to sacrifice is not a good mechanic. Because all map is like a puzzle or an adventure to pass. My second feedback is, controls could be with keyboard. I'd like to try same mechanic with WASD. Thank you for that experience. Good luck!

This is a cool concept -- like the mechanic that you cant use WASDm and that you have to time your clicks well to avoid the red dots. Initially I did not know what the red dots would do.

I regret to inform that I was not able to "piss off the evil" haha THAT SAID, I like the direction of this game! I'm a huge fan of exploration games and feel you have a lot of base mechanics just BEGGING to be iterated upon in a less stressed post-jam time duration. Over all, Well done on this! :)
