In ‘Elder loop’ you play an older wizard named Demange. The goal of the game is to slain as much enemies as you can, each monster will increase one of the 4 main stats you have. You can’t go higher than 5 for a given stat. Each enemy you slain will give you some point for your score and some Sanity … More you kill more you will lose sanity, when the bar is full the monster will be harder to kill. At any time when you have 5 of a given stat you will be able to sacrifice these to gain a bonus for your scoring. When you have slain all the monsters in the dungeon the game will restart, you will keep all of your stats, points etc … The madness will never end !

If there is a bug (no monster for example), press F5, you'll keep your stats ;)

Capture.PNG This is Demange our bald wizard ! He is awesome, he can throw some magic shit ! He is pretty weak, and will probably die if he gets hit by anything but well … That's why he needs to absorb life source from other !

But seriously ... it was our first Jam and we are proud of being able to deliver something.

Of course, it's wayyyyy different of what we were planning at first but we had a lot of fun making it.

Enjoy.

I like this type of old school games with loading spell bars on top of the player head and a large dungeon scroller.

Nice job!

Nice entry! The main mechanic is interesting --- you slowly get stronger, but have to sacrifice the stats you've built up to improve your score.

It took me a while to realize the correlation between (for instance) +Damage and the hand icon. It would be useful if the symbols in the HUD were labeled with stat.

The graphics are pretty solid, I particularly liked the main character and the interface elements.

Really like dungeon-crawlers. At least that's what i call them :)
Very good entry. Atmospheric with great ambient.
Gameplay is also very nice. Felt immediately like home.
Enjoyed playing this one.

Very nice! I like the mechanics, and I like the fact that you're a mage. Usually this kind of game you play as a warrior or something.

Nice work!!

Fun game. Like the way you handled the fog of war. Sometimes I got locked out of a room if there were several enemies at the door and had no chance to progress. I would have liked to be able to hold down click to shoot. I like that you can search rooms for some easy targets to build up your strength while you try to avoid tougher enemies.

Really nice entry.

Not too bad at all, though I think the knights have a bit too much HP.

i liked the mechanic and the dungeon crawling aspect, having you always moving around to survive and find more enemies to buff yourself so you can hunt more all while balancing it with the sanity/score tradeoff

Cool. Suprise when got hit once and then die. What is the c x when hand or feet is full for? did'nt seem to add to speed. knight is need like 7 hit to kill...

Wow, great entry! I don't think I would ever sacrifice my characters stats for a higher score though... Maybe if you were forced to sacrifice one to summon a boss at the end of each floor? But overall great job!

This is a nice entry! :D

I think there could be some clearer in-game instructions and maybe stronger visual cues that make it easier to understand the HUD. Also, more health would be nice, but I understand if you're trying to keep it really challenging.

That being said, the mechanics and controls work well for the player, and I like the mood that is created from the graphics and the sound. Also, I love how it tied into the theme of sacrifice. Overall, good work on the game!

I really liked the idea. Definitely an interesting concept. I found I was dying to random enemies in doorways quite often which was a real shame. Great idea. Cute graphics.

The Game has good Graphics and the gameplay is not to difficult and easy to handle. The theme is sucessful and I had lots of fun, with the magic animation. I don't know why, but i love the animation. Good Work!

I believe, that your implementations of mechanics is good, but there is a lot of work awaiting you when it comes to balance. Everything felt weirdly slow. It became suddenly better when I maxed out speed stat. Also, some rooms ended my playthrough in cheap death, because there was a knight waiting for me by the door. However, having in mind fact, that it was your first LD game, congratulations on delivering. Keep on working, and you have something special!
