Hi everyone,

I'm a hobby Unity coder and this is my first jam. I've really enjoyed my time making this game, super rush rush but got there in the end :D

I opt-out of sound as I haven't added any, sorry :(

My wonderful wife @alisoncox provided me with all the art and I've added basic animations within Unity.

I have added a top score in the game for players who play the WebGL version to try and beat.
This was finished a few hours after the submission period ran out and I'm sorry about that, hopefully this won't have any effect on voting.

Thanks everyone :)

The game is fun and quite clean. The big inertia and fixed aiming angle make the game pretty hard, maybe tweaking those may make it more dynamic. I don't know if it's against the rules, but the top score is a pleasant touch. Congratulations to you and your wife :)

*Cuteness overload!*

Nasty :rooster: :rooster: :rooster:, abducting us :rabbit: :rabbit: :rabbit:. We should have put more effort into the war preparations at peace time. The :rabbit:-mobile is an unwieldy, inaccurate patch-work-hack! Luckily it is bloody fun to use and the :rooster::rocket: goes down with just :carrot: :carrot:

It could have been nice to fight a big :rooster: as a boss, but you can't have it all.
Adding a highscore system is within acceptable bounds, by my book at least.

Quality work this. If only there was audio... :worried:

A very easy and fun game to play. The best part of this game is the super cute graphics. Okay music and/sound effects would have been super great. But overall this is very well made LD game. Well done.

This game is so cute! Without prior knowledge about why chicken aliens would want to abduct little bunnies I had lot of fun blasting them off the sky.

I don't really like the control though, it feel kind frustrating. The cannon feels like it has some kind of "lock-on" targeting system that only activate when you manage to slow down and aim close to a chicken, other time it just fly off. I never managed to get a shoot-by, always have to pause, aim, aim, aim, shoot, miss, aim, repeat. It doesn't give me the thrill of a shoot 'em up game.

Overall I think the game is very fun but the aiming or control system must be a bit more natural, either "smarter" or more badass.

Glad you had fun.
Yeah the controls are "unique" and aiming maybe takes a bit too long to get used to but I didn't want it to be too easy for you ;)

This is hilariously entertaining. If there was nothing to the game but driving the carrot car, I'd still be loving this, let alone all the great gameplay and amazing little touches. The indicators where the chicken/UFO things are, the trail behind the car, the physics/controls; all this and so much more make this a spectacular entry! Really, really well done this is amazing

Beautiful graphics and very fun to play. Got quite protective of the bunnies after a while. Would be awesome with some sound effects and a bit of background music. Nice work!

Well polished game! I love the way the :carrot: car leans back when you start.

I found the gameplay quite hard because there is so much inertia on the cart. I think some intertia is better than none but in this case there was too much (unless you could retarget the carrot gun)

Funny theme and great art also!

Interesting game! The wobbly car physics felt really interesting.
In the last rounds I figured you could just survive if you camp at the last bunny. Maybe rooster's beams could stack to remove this option.
The bunnies were really cute and I liked the idea of having a carrot car ^^ I just wonder why the bunnies don't eat their cars and houses.
Also, it would have been interesting to have a different, emergent icon for a rooster currently attacking a bunny. This way the player is more likely to quickly race to the ones being abducted.

All in all a cool entry! Could be even better with sound :)

Very fun and polished, with a lot of attention to detail; the high score UI being in what would otherwise be dead space, and the 'offscreen' enemy indicators.
Reminded me a lot of Defender in concept and gameplay

This game was a lot of fun, and the visuals were adorable. The carrot car in particular felt really good, even if it could have used a *slightly* better turn speed. The camera would be my only other complaint: I feel like the the sway might have led to motion sickness if the game were longer.

Seriously good and funny game. Visually amazing. There is no sound and thats the only negative. Original, challenging and very beauty. Dammit roosters, kill them all!

Super cute graphics! Due to the locked weapon I often had trouble hitting the chicken and lost some bunnys because of it but I managed to beat the final wave anyway =)

So cute! the vehicle felt really good to control, the acceleration feels great. shooting in only one angle is kind of annoying but also challenging in a good way. Maybe if it was upwards? I would consider having different types of alerts for an enemy and an enemy kidnapping, for prioritization.
Great work!

Thoroughly adorable entry!
Not just that though, this is filled with great design decisions that create a really engaging experience.

|+ Those bunnies!! Really charming art/style.
|+ The momentum of the vehicle is a real joy. Chasing the direction you see enemies are but then having to correct or try to anticipate slowing down creates a great balance.
|+ Strengthening the above point is the choice to have a static target on the vehicle that means you can't simply move to the enemy, but make those decisions to try get past them and turn around or prepare to stop before them.
|+ The way rabbits are slowly pulled up to the space ship giving you that tension of knowing you still have a chance to save them but you have to navigate to hit the ship not just once but reliably twice, is really great.

|- The gameplay doesn't progress/evolve too much.
|- 'Defeat x waves of enemies' doesn't feel too satisfying combined with the above lack of progression, though waves to defeat is natural for most score targeting games so no points lost for that.

A favorite of mine for sure. Though it doesn't push the boundaries of this kind of games formula much, all those '+' notes really do make for a strong and fun experience, greatly enjoyed my time with it, especially for a first jam this was a great entry, awesome work :)!

This fits the theme perfectly, and it's fun to play. I love the design of the car!

I'm torn on whether the car physics is a plus or a minus, on the one hand it makes the game challenging, but on the other.. it makes the game challenging. I think the most important thing is that players still feel in control of the car, and I think that's the case here, but there might be tweaks you could make to improve that balance.

The backstory is a nice touch, and those chickens look really evil when they line up in a row..

Haha, the premise is simple, but the shot's angle and vehicle's inertia are so cheesy that they add a lot of uniqueness to the gameplay. I loved to kick these rabbit stealing poultry out of my planet!

I think you agree that sound would've been nice, but it's understandable that it'd be left out in a jam. The car felt a bit too unresponsive, but I still liked that you didn't turn instantly. The sliding made it fun to time your shots. Some said that the aiming was weird, but I liked that it was fixed. I would've liked the pointers towards the enemies to just be on the left and right side of the screen, but it's great that they are there (this is something my game is missing..) The graphics are great, and the game feels well put together overall.

I wish the game would've gone on instead of ending before all bunnies were abducted, but I understand the camping problems that would come with that. Smart solution to that problem! :D

The highscore was a good idea, but I won't be taking it into mind when rating the game.

Well done, I enjoyed playing this!

The game is soo worth of the name

I loved the art style, the bunmobile design was brilliant (does it have a name?), and the rabbit faces were adorable beyond measure (and I say this as a rabbit owner :D).

As for things to improve, gameplay felt a bit challenging because of the physics. Aiming accurately could get tricky at times. Despite this, it feels solid, so it might be a matter of tuning.

Of course, audio would have been nice, but with all the work needed to get things working in such a short time it is understandable.

Great job!

Interesting game. I loved the visuals. I think what made the game hard (possible too hard) was a combination of two factors. First, when I wanted to slow down, the car turned around. Second, the carrot gun had a fixed angle. Therefore, if I was headed toward a chicken and about to overshoot, I had to turn around and wait until I was past it to shoot. If I hadn't hit it once on the way by, then I also had to go back the other way to finish it off. I think that removing one of these two limitations would greatly increase the fun of the game. Great game for your first jam. Love to see what you do next!

The game feels really good. Controls and camera work are great. It was quite satisfying being able to hit something full speed, and turn to finish it off without slowing down much.

The graphics are absolutely adorable. Controls, camera and animation are really smooth. Enjoyed the game through the final wave, though found it didn't test my skill too much in the final waves. All in all a really polished experienced that I really enjoyed.

Very fun and cute game! Of course, I wish you would have had time for adding sounds... that would have really finished off the game nicely. The game was still fun to play without though and it didn't affect my rating. ^^ Nicely done.

Maybe the camera its a little bit dizzy, and sometimes its a bit hard to shoot correctly. Anyway, the game is really good and fun, congratulations :3

This game has a very good art style, and I think that the environment is very well put together, even without sound.

However, I find it very frustrating that the main challenge of the game is literally just fighting with the controls. A bit of inertia the car is definitely good, but I feel like there is simply too much inertia, especially when combined with fixed aim. I think even a simple challenge like "the enemies shoot at you" would be better, because I did not find this game particularly fun.

The controls also had some small glitches - near the beginning of the game I was for some reason unable to reverse direction. I believe it was related to the fact that I was using mouse clicking for shooting instead of space.

Very cute game indeed! It was such fun driving a carrot car and shooting those evil chickens! I like the way the car moves - it's realistic that it takes some time to turn around and go the other way. I had a lot of fun! Would be improved even more by some cool music and sound effects in the future!
