Hi everyone,
I'm a hobby Unity coder and this is my first jam. I've really enjoyed my time making this game, super rush rush but got there in the end :D
I opt-out of sound as I haven't added any, sorry :(
My wonderful wife @alisoncox provided me with all the art and I've added basic animations within Unity.

This was finished a few hours after the submission period ran out and I'm sorry about that, hopefully this won't have any effect on voting.
Thanks everyone :)

Nasty :rooster: :rooster: :rooster:, abducting us :rabbit: :rabbit: :rabbit:. We should have put more effort into the war preparations at peace time. The :rabbit:-mobile is an unwieldy, inaccurate patch-work-hack! Luckily it is bloody fun to use and the :rooster::rocket: goes down with just :carrot: :carrot:
It could have been nice to fight a big :rooster: as a boss, but you can't have it all.
Adding a highscore system is within acceptable bounds, by my book at least.
Quality work this. If only there was audio... :worried:
good job! Well done arts and fx
! Looks professional! The bunny are really damn cute  Saw you with your feed on the first or second LD day. Also the gameplay
feels nice and is enjoyable to control.
Great entry you two!
I don't really like the control though, it feel kind frustrating. The cannon feels like it has some kind of "lock-on" targeting system that only activate when you manage to slow down and aim close to a chicken, other time it just fly off. I never managed to get a shoot-by, always have to pause, aim, aim, aim, shoot, miss, aim, repeat. It doesn't give me the thrill of a shoot 'em up game.
Overall I think the game is very fun but the aiming or control system must be a bit more natural, either "smarter" or more badass.
Glad you had fun.
Yeah the controls are "unique" and aiming maybe takes a bit too long to get used to but I didn't want it to be too easy for you ;)
I found the gameplay quite hard because there is so much inertia on the cart. I think some intertia is better than none but in this case there was too much (unless you could retarget the carrot gun)
Funny theme and great art also!
In the last rounds I figured you could just survive if you camp at the last bunny. Maybe rooster's beams could stack to remove this option.
The bunnies were really cute and I liked the idea of having a carrot car ^^ I just wonder why the bunnies don't eat their cars and houses.
Also, it would have been interesting to have a different, emergent icon for a rooster currently attacking a bunny. This way the player is more likely to quickly race to the ones being abducted.
All in all a cool entry! Could be even better with sound :)
Reminded me a lot of Defender in concept and gameplay
Great work!
Not just that though, this is filled with great design decisions that create a really engaging experience.
|+ Those bunnies!! Really charming art/style.
|+ The momentum of the vehicle is a real joy. Chasing the direction you see enemies are but then having to correct or try to anticipate slowing down creates a great balance.
|+ Strengthening the above point is the choice to have a static target on the vehicle that means you can't simply move to the enemy, but make those decisions to try get past them and turn around or prepare to stop before them.
|+ The way rabbits are slowly pulled up to the space ship giving you that tension of knowing you still have a chance to save them but you have to navigate to hit the ship not just once but reliably twice, is really great.
|- The gameplay doesn't progress/evolve too much.
|- 'Defeat x waves of enemies' doesn't feel too satisfying combined with the above lack of progression, though waves to defeat is natural for most score targeting games so no points lost for that.
A favorite of mine for sure. Though it doesn't push the boundaries of this kind of games formula much, all those '+' notes really do make for a strong and fun experience, greatly enjoyed my time with it, especially for a first jam this was a great entry, awesome work :)!
I'm torn on whether the car physics is a plus or a minus, on the one hand it makes the game challenging, but on the other.. it makes the game challenging. I think the most important thing is that players still feel in control of the car, and I think that's the case here, but there might be tweaks you could make to improve that balance.
The backstory is a nice touch, and those chickens look really evil when they line up in a row..
++Fantastic people
I wish the game would've gone on instead of ending before all bunnies were abducted, but I understand the camping problems that would come with that. Smart solution to that problem! :D
The highscore was a good idea, but I won't be taking it into mind when rating the game.
Well done, I enjoyed playing this!
Cool game!
I loved the art style, the bunmobile design was brilliant (does it have a name?), and the rabbit faces were adorable beyond measure (and I say this as a rabbit owner :D).
As for things to improve, gameplay felt a bit challenging because of the physics. Aiming accurately could get tricky at times. Despite this, it feels solid, so it might be a matter of tuning.
Of course, audio would have been nice, but with all the work needed to get things working in such a short time it is understandable.
Great job!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the feedback
The gameplay (like the other comment) is so classic for me and doesn’t progress/evolve too much.
After that it a nice entry good job.
Maybe the camera its a little bit dizzy, and sometimes its a bit hard to shoot correctly. Anyway, the game is really good and fun, congratulations :3
However, I find it very frustrating that the main challenge of the game is literally just fighting with the controls. A bit of inertia the car is definitely good, but I feel like there is simply too much inertia, especially when combined with fixed aim. I think even a simple challenge like "the enemies shoot at you" would be better, because I did not find this game particularly fun.
The controls also had some small glitches - near the beginning of the game I was for some reason unable to reverse direction. I believe it was related to the fact that I was using mouse clicking for shooting instead of space.
I love this idea, it's adorably cute! It takes me some time to get used to the control way, it's kinda like the fiction is too low.
Really nice concept & artwork - some great ideas in there. Just a shame the controls are so spongy. Otherwise great fun
