Sewerbird's LD 44: Space Boast by sewerbird

[raw]
made by sewerbird for LD 44 (COMPO)

Implemented in Clojure, without any game-engine or library other than Quil for access to a drawing canvas.

MOVE WITH WASD

This is a space shooter where you bet how much life you need to survive 30 seconds in the asteroid fields. The money you get for each point of life-handicap can be used to upgrade your laser and ship!

This is primarily my attempt to learn Clojure, under a tight time limit. I got a basic gameplay loop done, but it badly needs assets and polish for the main game mode. I'm proud of what I managed to get done, but definitely could've used more time!

Neat-o! After a couple rounds I never got any more money, even when I had it all the way "D"

Very nice, and well done for learning clojure at the same time as making a game for the LD.

The betting mechanic is a good idea, rather than trading directly your life for upgrades.

As cheese said, I didn't manage to get any more money after the third round... even though I tried all to way to A and D :)
