Bullet Rogue

As a well respected rogue you invade yet another dungeon, but this time something is different... Your enemies are no usual goblins ! they are bullet hell fodder ! and the bosses ... oh the bosses...

Release notes : - [BUG] Evil TurtleTank are now placed in the center of the tile. - [BUG] Bullets don't play one more turn than their lifetime anymore. - [BUG] Bullets were spawning with a delay of one turn. - [FCT] Enemies become red the turn just before shooting bullet(s).

+2weeks version (but sadly, not two weeks of works on the game)

Release notes : - [FCT] Bullets, camera, enemies and player are now moving following an interpolation. - [FCT] Exploding bullets are now green and goes black to display their lifetime. - [FCT] Menu are now skipped on the release event of space bar.

I made it to the end after a number of attempts. I enjoyed it, though there were a few things that were unclear and made the game more confusing than necessary for the first several tries:
- Bullets travel (and do damage) for one more space after disappearing.
- Bullet trails don't appear on the turn they're fired, making it hard to tell where they're going at first. Normally you can tell by positioning, but it took me a while to realize that the ones fired by the tanks on the second level were moving at all, because they're only visible for one turn.

Once I figured out what was actually happening on the second floor, I had a lot of fun trying to make it through.

We were aware about those bugs you found. I am really sorry it alter your experience of our game.

Actually, I just finished some bugfixes, so we will try to upload another version soon.

Hope you enjoy our bosses we put a lot of love in them.

This game is tougher than it looks and fun! Great Easy Tutorial to match the theme. I also enjoyed the random layouts so I could keep retrying. Great Job!

Nice game. Even if I did not pass the second level… too hard for me.
You should animate/tween the bullets/player for a better visibility.
Good job nonetheless.

@eptwalabha Yeah we had a hard time to finish the visuals in time, we may put an other post-Ld version that help with visibility.

Overall, an interesting game to play for a little bit. It was a bit confusing, but I think it's fun to figure out how the game works.

I liked this game a lot! A lot of strategy where every move counts!
It was a little hard to grasp how the enemies and bullets were moving. The bullet trails did not show until they had travelled one step. A little confusing with the moving tanks/cannons in the first area. And did not quite grasp the red areas around the turrets as they were about to fire...

I hope you continue working on this game. If you could just add animations/transitions on the enemies between their turns I think all of my issues above will be solved!

Nice game, I really like the concept and I think it's well executed for the most part. The visuals make it a bit tricky to detect movement though, maybe making the floor on a checkered style would work?

I just uploaded a new version with I hope no new bugs.

Btw you can thanks @tommislav for this new version I wasn't really wanting to do a new version (with work and all). But seeing there is at least one person wanting us to continue to work on it, I couldn't not do at least one last version.

We hope you will finally understand something at our Bullet hell/rogue-like game. Enjoy.

Great work on this entry! The music was nice, the controls were explained in a very nice way by using the scene tiles. Overall I enjoyed it!

This game is great! Absolutely loved the game play of bullet hell with some degree of turn based strategy. Also very much enjoyed that the turn base didn't make the game easier at all. Very fun concept.

Interesting concept. I think I need to have played more rogue likes to truly understand how to move without getting hit in this game. A good blend of the two genres, though.

hi @tommislav, and thanks for notifying me about this error !

I have tested previous versions also and they are not working anymore even if we changed nothing. My guess is that on the new version of Firefox (60.0) WebGL is broken because it works on the browser Edge.

Have you tried only on Firefox ?
If yes, (and if you still want to test the new version :3) then please change the browser used.
Tell me if you still have problems on your side.
