I'm addicted

cute graphics but pretty stressful though.
Is the algorithm of tile spawning made so you can never have a whale falling ? i looks like it's too randomized and you can have only Animals for a long streak, but perhaps my strategy was suboptimal
I also like the snapping effect
Thank you very much for all these compliments = D
@tontonpizza I'm sorry, the algorithm of tile spawning is really simple and each tile has a 25% chance to spawn. It's a good idea to have an "adaptability golden path of spawing ", I hope I'll get enough skill to code it
Love the HHGTTG reference =)
Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)
Fun to play and great reference to a great book.
Well done.
Shoutout for making a HTML5 version! Easy up the game setup for the player nicely.
Excellent job.
One issue I had though was I couldn't really tell if I put the wrong type on the wrong tile at all. Or maybe I just suck at the game
Sure it's easier on a mobile device
Well done
Whales are good
Here is my playtest: :turkey:

Great to see other games with references to the Hitchhiker's Guide.
Awesome graphics, and the music and sound helps the mood. I find gameplay a bit too stressful to actually plan my moves, I had to be as fast as possible to avoid the whale.
Also, I noticed that placement of tiles oft didn't accept my mouse position, and I lost tiles due to that. It seems you have to have the tile pretty exactly aligned to have it planted. I personally would like to have to position of the mouse pointer when you release the mouse button considered.
Would be awesome if there was more incentive to keep playing, e.g. set points where you get new types of tiles or even just a high score table.
I like how you color coded the tile with green and brown, made it easy to spot which tile will grant bonus to animals/plants without thinking too much.
Most of the time my focus is in the middle of the screen when placing the tile. Also sometimes, the time run out while you are in the middle of dragging the tile. Would love to see some visual feedback when the timer is running out. maybe bounce the tile, or tint it red?
@outterest Yes sorry we tried to give feedbacks on it (tiles have the colour corresponding to their bonuses, and normally there's a green fx if you get the bonus and a red fx if you get a panalty), maybe we should accentuate it more. We'd also love to have an animated tutorial the first seconds of the game to explain it more clearly (for the moment you still have to clic on the tutorial).
@wowa Yes I totally agree, we'd like to have an increasing pace, maybe also a countdown at the beginning. This is our priority number one if we can find some time to make a version 2 :)
@icxon and @mshopf We heard about this problem several times, and it is also planned for a version 2, as the problem is in fact ALREADY corrected, as "somebody" seems to have forgotten to reactivate the script before building... "oops" he said ^^'
@icxon And many thanks for the video!!
@matank Yeah we had several ideas we would have loved to put in our jam entry, but we had to make it in the jam time. But later adding tiles types would totally be possible, and we also had the idea to put stuff like seasons and special events affecting the tiles types and grow speed for example :D
@mochakingup Yes this is why we'd like to increase the pace over time. Adding a "running out of time feedback" is a great idea!

Thank you so much for all your comments and feedbacks!
The only thing, I had a "bug", I couldn't drag some parts anymore sometimes, I don't know why :/
In any case, good job !! Love the mood and aesthetics :)
I sometimes had trouble placing the tiles correctly (or at all), which is annoying when every split second counts.
I have a feeling that I'll still be playing this game a few months from now :)
I literally went WTF when I saw a whale falling out of the sky despite having seen it in the cover. That was funny.
There's one thing to make the game better is the Whale Timer should be stopped when the player clicks on a tile. It's infuriating when what you're dragging just disappear into thin air.
Nice game overall!
