Catalpa by Samitalien
Hi, thanks for playing our game :)
In this game you pilot a futuristic ship through a gorgeous canyon and abandoned ruins infested by gicantic worms.
We really wanted to make you feel as small as possible in these enormous environments
It was our very first jam in 3D so we decided to have a pretty small scope to be sure that we woud be able to finish the game and integrate all the 3D assets.

Controls:
You control your ship with the keyboard arrows At any time you can press "A" to invert the Y axis At any time you can press "Escape" to go back to the menu and restart
Here is the main theme by @phyrsos : https://soundcloud.com/phyrsos-phyrsos/catalpa-theme
Known Bugs:
you might get stuck in some walls, in that case we are sorry but you will have to restart the game, luckily it isn't that long 😉
MacOS version and Linux version are untested so they might have some bugs we are not aware of sorry :/

bien joué les gars 👌
Just WOW.
You guys are AMAZING! To be able to do all thin in 3 days is incredible. The game looks AMAZING, the soundtrack is bliss(P.S. Please let us download the soundtrack. I could listen to that all the time) and the controls are great.
I do wish we could control the camera using the mouse and I wished the ship was a little more centered to the camera's view. But these are minor quips in an otherwise beautiful game!
plus it's more like an interactive trailer or similar than a game.
really good tho
I did not get the point (and theme) of the game but it was still a stunning experience. The flying was smooth although I would have liked to have more freedom moving the ship and camera. Now I constantly felt my movement was restricted.
Overall it was graphically and aesthetically very pleasing game. Some work on actual gameplay and you guys might have a real game in your hands.
We know there is a lack in the game duration and design since we focused our efforts on a good short experience and didn't have much time to do more.
About the themes (two incompatible genres), we initially wanted to mix boss fight with contemplative game/flying simulator but that was a too optimistic scope for a Jam.
We hope the experience was good despite of those problems !
The harmonization of colors and the use of 3D are particularly successful
beautiful team spirit for such an achievement in 72H
