Continuum by aayush

made by aayush for LD 42 (COMPO)

My take on the theme "Running out of space". Just in time for the compo! This time around, I created sfx and tried out something unique as well, as in there is no language in the game. Have fun playing! Edit: I added a couple of bug fixes after the jam, hence I have included a google drive link to the original version of the game. Really nice aesthetics and sound design. It took me a while to get the hang of the controls, but I really like how it feels when you know what you are doing. Good job!

I really like the aesthetic and mood of the game. It's easy to get into a flow when playing. It's also really easy to pick up and play/understand w/o any instructions or reference to the controls.
I wish the hitboxes on the triangles you're trying to collect were a bit larger. There were several times playing where I flew just right past the triangle. I also wish the player was a *tiny* bit slower, to make it easier to control.
Otherwise, good job!

This game was very balanced out! The gameplay was unique, and the graphics were nice and simplistic, just how I liek it! This game was also very fun, and it looked amazing! Good Job!

Dude I love this kind of aestethics graphics ! Maybe the background a bit less white, and would be perfect ! I also love the gameplay and the general concept, but hell, i am so bad x)
Nice entry

I like the mechanics of the enemies - dodging them is possible, but when enough of them come at you at once you feel like a ninja if you get away. Nice!

Awesome compo, the controls are cool once you get the hang of them, apart from that there are cool little mechanics that make it engaging, like killing the squares with the shield or simply letting them hit one another. Once you realise that you can teleport from one side to the other of the screen but the squares can't it gets much easier :D

Very simple and fun gameplay. Clean aesthetics improve the overall game feel. However, controlling the player was a little bit difficult at start, it could've been a little slower. Overall, well done!

Very floaty controls didn't help this, very minimal design which is nice but it could probably done with a bit more game feel to help you feel connected to it. Not bad for a solo competition game made in two days. Keep developing you have potential.

Well, quite long after the start I realized that I can create a shild. I'v played also at the beginning with an xbox controller. The controls with him feels much better and creates a better flow for the player. You should definitly put the spacebutton an one of the controller buttons.
And I like also the simple background music even if it repeats irregularly.
All in one a solid theme fitting compo game. Thank's for the experience. :)

Very nicely done! Clean and simple graphics, with a nice soundtrack to match. The logo/title card were also very well done.

I appreciated that you included a queue/visual indicator for players prior to events, such as the enemy dash, or a black hole spawning, I feel that's great game design!

The only thing I feel could be improved is the graphic and text rendering. While it was clean and minimalistic, it did have some tiny amounts of pixelation/fuzz at various resolutions I tried. Leveraging some of Unity's features to do pixel perfect, and screen scaling, and other methods to allow for a very super crisp graphic would add a perfect final touch to the look in my opinion. That said, it's very close how it is, and I think you did a great job with the style and delivery!

I loved it. Clean, minimal and fun. Plenty of scope for development. Happy with my score too.

I also went for no language - to my detriment, as most people are a bit confused. If you want to try and work it out then I would appreciate your feedback.

I really liked it. It's simple but it work. I liked the minimalist graphics and the game feel is very good. The animation worked well, i could feel like if this small square had a personality ( a jerk one but still ^^).

Really fun, simple idea that I enjoyed quite a bit. Easy to pick up aswell, which is nice. The graphics and sound were pretty minimalist, but ended up creating a good atmosphere regardless. Nice job!

Pretty fun game, my highest score is only 26. I think the squares move a bit too frequently and too fast, so I always die before really get the feel of running out of space with the black holes. Otherwise, the game has a clever mechanic, excellent minimalistic graphics and soothing music, I can really see this being an addictive mobile game post-jam. GJ!

I liked the simple graphics and you intuitively know what to do. The controls were hard but in a good way. I loved the way the AI were programmed but maybe it would be nicer to make them a bit easier in the beginning. For me because of the difficulty this wasn't really fun although I wanted to keep playing for a while but this is not my type of game.
