Rescue Life!

You are a small World. Billion years of life on your crust made you ill and you notice that you might die soon. All those little life forms you carry were quite wonderful and so you decide to start one last journey through the galaxy to find a planet, similar to you, so life can be preserved.

In the now following universe, you can change orbits around suns, to adjust your temperature. (The closer to the sun, the hotter you get). The life you carry (plants, lower- and higher life forms) have quite some requirements, regarding their being, especially with regard to your temperature. But do not worry! Your atmosphere dampens the effect of the cold innerstellar space and dramatic heat of blue suns.

If you wear your atmosphere out, you can regain it - if you have plants still alive, that is ...!

hey really great idea! i like the concept a lot. you did a nice job with the UI as well. the feeling when first leaving orbit and flying through space trying to land in a new orbit was great. the controls and animation were slightly clunky though, and i did run into a game crashing bug everytime i played. i think when life on your planet dropped to a certain level the event was triggered, however i cant be certain because whenever the event was triggered the game just closed. i did manage to glimpse a dialogue box for split second before the game closes that says "Unfortunately..." but thats the only word i could catch. i like what you were able to implement for the jam, i think you should continue to work on this and it could be much cleaner and tighter. nice work!

Nice entry! My major complaint is that I didn't find a way to restart the game after "Lost" or "Congratulation" screens. I think that it would be great to have some visual indication about surrounding temperature, e.g. the hotter it is the more red glowing is around or something like that. I like zooming in and out to examine closely my planet and stars and at the same time to see how big galaxy is. It is interesting game about space exploration and survival. And quite challenging!

I just wanted to thank the first two reviewers and address some of the mentioned issues.

* The chunky-ness and micro freezes are due to the java garbage collector and sadly we weren't able to fix those
* The game-crashing-bug at the end of a round can be observed on a number of computers, though we can't exactly track it down. It happens inside a Box2D .dll when the "you won" or "you lost" sound is played. It seems to be computer dependent, but we were not able to identify the source.
* The missing "restart" feature is really caused by a poor architecture. When the jam slowly came to its end, I just wanted to add the ability to restart and had to give up. We planned this badly, which is especially a shame since both of us are software architects ... :(

On a final note: Thanks so much for the reviews! It really feels great when someone actually likes your game!
