I wouldn't say it was fun but it functioned pretty solidly and given the difficulty of the theme I understand the struggle to figure out how to turn the theme into a game. (our group struggled for the first 2 days to figure out what our game even WAS and even on the 3rd day we still weren't completely sure.)","likes":1,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Shodanon","author_uid":"1026140","time":"2017-04-26T23:04:56Z","epoch":1493247896,"modified":1493247896,"text":"One of my first concepts for a \"small world\" game was to make a puzzle game inside a facility reminiscent of the one that appears in the movie \"Cube\". I'm glad I didn't pursue the idea because you did it better than I ever would. While gathering items and placing them on the table doesn't constitute a puzzle, exploring the hypercube definilitely does!\nWhile the \"game\" is minimalistic, the style you created is surreal and intriguing. It was fun exploring the world and to figure out what even to do. The first time I used one of the small teleportation rooms I wasnt sure what happened. But after some time I understod the idea. The only really challenging part was finding the apple. The jumparc was a bit weird. I guess because you dont really need to jump anyways (except to jump out of a hole), but it just felt weird to jump, if you got happy because you finally found the apple. I liked the sounddesign and the art, it was simplistic but I really love that kind of style.","likes":0,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"Dragojt","author_uid":"1008440","time":"2017-04-28T20:09:58Z","epoch":1493410198,"modified":1493410198,"text":"Very immersive game! The complex idea of trying to navigate a 4D cube contrasts perfectly with the simplicity of making breakfast. A map would help (but maybe its better without one).","likes":0,"format":"md"},{"author_name":"EveningWayward","author_uid":"1014533","time":"2017-05-01T13:42:18Z","epoch":1493646138,"modified":1493646138,"text":"I felt like I was a test subject who's taking part in a series of experiments conducted in a closed facility and is contanstly being watched by invisible eyes. A remarkable atmosphere that's hard to reach. Among the examples of similar vibes I can only remember The Stanley Parable, some of @nuprahtor games and Cube (which was released in 2005). \n\nGood job building the tension.","likes":0,"format":"md"}],"format":"md","images":["ld38\/15906-cf09a17efc552897b394b4587dbe23be.png"],"links":[],"metadata":{"g_key":"36551","g_author":"1010191","g_event":"LD38","g_eventkey":"69","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"220376","g_title":"Hypercube","g_status":"USEAR3","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"6","g_site2_node_id":"15906","g_hide":"Y","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":{"n_key":"15906","n_urlkey":"220376","n_parent":"9405","n_path":"\/events\/ludum-dare\/38\/hypercube","n_slug":"hypercube","n_type":"item","n_subtype":"game","n_subsubtype":"jam","n_author":"10191","n_created":"1492809598","n_modified":"1493176659","n_version":"67559","n_status":"COMMIT"},"node":{"id":15906,"parent":9405,"superparent":9,"author":10191,"type":"item","subtype":"game","subsubtype":"jam","published":"2017-04-25T00:46:58Z","created":"2017-04-21T21:19:58Z","modified":"2017-04-26T03:17:39Z","version":67559,"slug":"hypercube","name":"Hypercube","body":"Explore the biomes of a 4d hypercube as you try to make yourself dinner\n\n![Hypercube.png](\/\/\/raw\/fc7\/2\/z\/27b9.png)\n\n# Controls\n\n- WASD to move\n\n- Mouse to look\n\n- Space or Backspace to jump\n\n- left click to interact with objects\n\n- Scroll or R\/F to select specific inventory items\n\n\nThe only things I didn't make from scratch are the floor textures and sound effects (although I did edit *some* of the sound effects).
